Fantastic iron. Heats up in a couple of tens of seconds. Seems really well built.

The only thing I don't like about it is the tip cleaning wire holder. It doesn't stay in the stand very well. That is the ONLY complaint, though.

Excellent tool. Fast heating, accurate reading, great looks. I wish they had more tip options though, but still a keeper.

I really wanted to like this iron, but the handle gets hot--considerably hotter than even the cheap Chinese knockoffs. Otherwise, it seems like a quality unit.

Pros:
I've only been working with this for a few hours, but it seems like a quality soldering station. The included tip is fine enough to work on medium to large SMT chips (and perhaps some of the smaller ones if you have the finesse). It heats up very quickly, from room temperature to 400C in under a minute, and the heat stays in the tip--almost nothing creeps back to the handle. The label on the iron itself says it's rated for 24V/60W. The station remembers temperature settings between power cycling. Temperature seems accurate enough and can be adjusted to within a single degree Celcius.
The entire station is very well made. The cord is soft and flexible, the iron connector is solid, the station comes with both the sponge and cleaning wire. Buttons are the basic clicky kind, but get the job done and feel like they'll last awhile. The display is big and backlit.
The instructions contain no typos, and read like natural English instead of something run through Google Translate (which makes sense, considering that Aven Tools are based in Michigan). The power connector is a standard detachable 3 prong one like what your desktop computer would use.
Overall it's comparable to Weller's lineup in this price range. I can't tell yet if it's better or worse, but it's very competitive.

Quirks:
It samples the temperature every second and you can hear a faint buzz every second, as sort of a pulse letting you know it's sampling and reheating as needed.

Cons:
My only complaint is that the power switch is on the back of the unit. It's easy to flip once you reach back there though.
As another reviewer stated, Amazon does not (yet?) have additional tips, but they are reasonably priced through Aven Tools' website.

An excellent soldering station for the money. Works exteremly well, and is suitable for production soldering with both leaded and lead free solder. The LCD temperature indicator is quite accurate, reads out in both degrees F and C, and can be adjusted easily using the large pushbutton temperature controls. The iron heats up quickly and the temperature tracks well while soldering. The included brass coil tip cleaner and sponge ensure a nice clean tip during extensive soldering tasks. A wide variety of tips are available from the manufacturer for different operations and a variety of tasks, including through hole and surface mount applications. Hopefully Amazon will make the various tips available online as well.
