Maybe mine was a lemon...

Tone/design/intonation: Stuffy and very uneven on 5th and 6th partial (3rd space C# up to G on top of staff). Tried the included mouthpieces, a Bach 3B trumpet mouthpiece and a King KME (System Blue clone) mouthpiece. The KME was the best when it came to the stuffiness but it still exhibited intonation issues.
Mechanical: main tuning slide and spit keys were fine. First valve saddle slide was stiff and seemed to want to bind a bit. The pistons had a very "spongey" feel - they didn't "pop" back up. They were also extremely difficult to position...the positioning tab wouldn't grab until top started to screw on.
Also, my unit specifically had an issue with the first valve, which would "catch" on the way back up right before reaching the top, making fast passages from B-flat up to F an exercise in frustration.

Good practice horn with a great price. Son is loving the fact he can practice before marching band preseason rehearsals.

I'm so happy with my purchase. My order came with more than expected. It says they'll give you a a mouthpiece and a case along with your horn but it didnt say I'd get two mouthpieces, gloves, and a case. They give you two mouth pieces, one a mellophone/trumpet mouthpiece and the other a French horn mouthpiece with and ADAPTER! Those things cost like 20 dollars. They really hooked me up. Thank you
