Works great. This is much better than the Shurhold 3100 ...

Works great. This is much better than the Shurhold 3100 series. It is a lot smoother, and the trigger is a lot easier to use. It should be noted that the foam pad on this is wider than the one on the 3100 series, and the 6.5" wool bonnets / compounding pads do not fit. You would need to get 7" wool bonnets for this to work. The 6.5" foam pads work fine though.
Great value for a long throw polisher

Smoother than I thought it would be. I did have the common problem of the backing plate being warped from sitting on it's side. I replaced it with a 5" lake country backing plate anyway. I did put the old one out in the Texas sunmer heat with a weight on it pressing it flat and it went back after a few weeks. So it's a spare now if I want to run large pads. Make sure you get HDO pads or ones made for long throws as this can destroy ones that aren't.

Ok! So this is my first time writing a review on anything! PLEASE READ!!!
It's been a month since I've bought this and I use it everyday on my cars, and customers cars. This thing is amazing on how powerful it is removing paint defects! Now there are a few things to know !
The backing plate rubs, so if you want free spining then you need a washer mod. The torq22d (I think it's called that )backing plate from chemical guys comes with a washer mod and is free spining and fits perfect ! BUT IF YOU GO THAT ROUTE, MAKE SURE TO GET A LONGER BOLT!!! DO NOT USE FACTORY BOLT WITH A WASHER MOD PLATE! YOUR PLATE WILL FLY OFF! Go and get a 5/16-24x3/4 bolt and you'll be good to go on any washer mod plates !!
Also, the backing plate that comes with this shurhold 3500 is absolutely trash so throw it away and be done with it! If your thinking bout getting the maxshine or griots, the shurhold 3500 is way more powerful, it transfers great power to the pad very we'll! The vibration isn't to bad, but remember that nothing will be like a rupes! But it can do the exact same thing a rupes does, in fact the shurhold 3500 will stall far less than the rupes or any other machine.
Most underrated polisher on the market ! It's great for beginners and pros ! Trust me you won't be disappointed! And no I don't work for shurhold

Amazing product. Compounded and waxed a 2002 whaler where half had never even been waxed. Before it had no shine and now it sparkles. Removed a great layer of oxidation, no damage from unit even in spots where it basically doesn't get to move around and I was afraid it might cause a burn. This made a huge difference.
Variable speed dial is in a great spot where you can adjust it as you go.
The heavy oxidation pads definitely did a great job, light one and wax pad were good too. Rinse them out after and they'll be good for many uses.
Long cable made it very easy to move around the boat.
Wasn't too heavy, had no problem doing this all day and that was a concern of mine.
Carry bag is great, good amount of room for a couple extra tools I always carry with it.
Highly recommend this product. Boat is getting a ton of compliments around the dock.

Received the first polisher. Backing plate was severe damaged. Well, things happening. I send it back with request exchange for the new one.
New one came in couple of days... and have the same problem. Package wax ok, no problem. But the backing plate was even worth. Its looks like these machine was stacking on the top on each other on the manufacture for very long time without the package. It was completely smashed. When I turned it on it was noisy and have terrible vibration. Will send it back again. Peace of junk. Dont buy this product.
New one came in couple of days... and have the same problem. Package wax ok, no problem. But the backing plate was even worth. Its looks like these machine was stacking on the top on each other on the manufacture for very long time without the package. It was completely smashed.
