Coral Honeysuckle - Lonceria sempervirens - Live Plant - Non-Invasive Native Species - No Fragrance - Orange Pink Flower - Emerald Goddess Gardens - Starter Sz 4 Inch Pot

Key features
- •Loniceria sempervirens, or Coral Honeysuckle, is native to much of the southern United States and is a beautiful, slender, fast-growing, tendriled vine that blooms in the spring with profuse clusters of coral red trumpet-shaped nectar-rich flowers with yellow throats, and has random scattered flowers throughout the year. Coral Honeysuckle is not fragrant. It is a non-invasive, fast-growing, easy-care plant that requires little maintenance and tending.
- •It can be used in many interesting and versatile ways to bring quick cover and color for trellises, fences, or other supports, ot used for ground cover and erosion control for embankments, and other problem areas. Flowers are nectar-rich and a great food source for Hummingbirds and Butterflies, so an excellent ecosystem-friendly choice for Butterfly Gardens and Wildlife Habitat areas.
- •Care: When mature, plant in fertile, well-draining soil or potting media in full sun. Water as needed to maintain consistent soil moisture, but avoid overwatering. Overly saturated plants become spotted, weak, thin, and fail to flower as expected. Feed a good quality, slow-release fertilizer initially and repeat only as needed based on plant appearance. Prune after flowering to control size and shape. Avoid pruning during winter.
- •Indoor Growing: Crossvines require the full spectrum of bright, indirect light for 4 to 6 hours daily. Warm temperatures above 75 degrees, high humidity when actively growing, and period of above freezing chilling during dormancy to produce flowers. The vine can be grown indoors fairly easily, but producing flowers can be challenging.
- •Climate: Coral Honeysuckle is moderately cold-tolerant and recommended for USDA Zones 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Generally well-established plants freeze to the ground and resprout in the Spring in Zones 5, 6, and 7. Elsewhere, it is generally evergreen. Plant early in the season, mulch heavily well ahead of the first frost, and protect from cold until well established.
