Excellent company to deal with. Came quickly and the workmanship is perfect. As a former Marine I am no stranger to pain but finally had to break down and buy some rose gloves! I probably should have sent them back but I have a lot of rose bushes that needed dead heading and pruning so I snapped to attention and attacked them. They work great! Absolutely no complaint! The reason I should have sent them back before soiling them follows. The left glove fit perfectly but the gauntlet was a little close though comfortable. The right glove was also a perfect fit but the gauntlet was VERY tight! So much so that after a couple of hour in the sun I had great difficulty removing the right hand glove! I'm talking yanking and tugging.

I have always worn medium gloves but to be safe I ordered a Large pair thinking better too big than too small. I am not the Hulk. I have muscled arms but not freakishly so. I would suggest ordering a size up. If I could have split the order I would have ordered an XLarge for my right hand . That option wasn't available. Indeed I would be willing to buy a right hand XLarge if I had the option.

Over all I give the Rose Pruning Gloves five stars because they work really great for avoiding cuts and scratches... but if you have any muscle in you forearms at all better order a size up cause they are extremely had to get of. I would still recommend them with that caution.

Good solution for rose pruning. Quality is a bit concerning. Not necessarily "thorn proof." UPDATE: Warning: poor quality!

UPDATE: 4/14/17
As I suspected the quality was lacking. I have holes in one of the fingers due to poor stitching and they are still bleeding dye after 2 months. The hole makes them unusable now unless I keep that finger away from everything. I liked them while they lasted but I guess I will be investing in a better set of pruning gloves that lasts longer than 2 months. I have to change this to one star - almost 30 dollars for 2 months of use is not worth it.

Orinigal Review:
I love love love the length of these gloves. The best part is the gauntlet. I had no pain pruning my climbing roses on the side of my house. Mind you, these aren't the very thorny type. My old fashioned rose shrub attacked my pants but these kept my hands/arm areas quite safe. Last year I used normal gardening leather gloves and had scratches all over.

I have yet to get to my golden glow roses which are more prickly. I also used these for some weed pulling. I will update this when I get further into my other thorny plants (including my blackberries) and the evil bull thistle.

I can say that the physical glove (finger part) is not "thorn proof," resistant may be a better term. My black raspberries still poked through the leather.

The gloves run a bit small. Based on measurements, I should have no problem fitting into the small size but they were snug. I was still able to do what I needed to, though.

My major complaint is the dye bleed. I did this on a somewhat wet day and I took off the gloves and found that my hands, wrists, and parts of my lower arm were colored yellow. It almost looked like bruises. Washing my hands a few time made it fade so it isn't the end of the world but maybe I should have went with the white ones lol.

Even though these were annoyance, I will say this is the best solution so far for my rose and thorny plant pruning.
Perfect for doing battle with Arizona Spiky Things

I bought these to use for trail clearing in Arizona, where every plant is festooned with spikes and ready to shred lesser gloves. When doing battle with fearsome brush, especially Cat Claw, these gloves did the job. The glove part over the hands did a good job of protecting my hands when picking up cuttings and grabbing stalks to move for access to a cut point. The cow leather forearm part did an excellent job of protecting my arms when reaching deep inside a murderous needle-equipped Death Bush.

The goatskin part is functional and effective for many spiky plants. Just don't grab too hard and you'll be OK. I tried picking up a cholla cutting and despite being gentle, the devil plant managed to poke me a little bit through the glove. With any other glove I would have been thoroughly impaled and forced to whip out my hemostat to de-spike myself. With these I just brushed the offending spiky chunk off with a pair of clippers and moved on.

No, you aren't going to win a punching contest with a saguaro, but for normal garden work, and even careful trail trimming, these are awesome.
Perfect for your thorny landscaping job!

I bought these for my husband after we purchased 10 acres that was extremely overgrown with weeds/vines/plants/shrubs. We were concerned not only with thorns and brambles but with snakes (He is terrified of snakes) These gloves helped him clear out several feet of thorny and his words, 'snakey' vines with no problem. The cuffs come up well onto the arm and are thick and very protective while the hand part of the gloves are soft and malleable. We purchased the large for him and they fit him wonderfully. They are easy to use and will serve us well clearing the land. Hopefully we won't have to find out if they are snake proof.

I purchased 1 pair each of the XS goatskin gloves with cowhide gauntlet sleeves from Rose Pruning Gloves for Men and Women. Thorn Proof Goatskin Leather Gardening Gloves with Long Cowhide Gauntlet to Protect Your Arms Until the Elbow (Extra Small) and Leather Gardening Gloves by Fir Tree. Premium Goatskin Gloves With Cowhide Suede Gauntlet Sleeves. Perfect Rose Garden Gloves. Men's and Women's Sizes. (See Size Chart Photo) Size S in the hopes one would be better then the other for handling physical chores on our property that require gauntlet sleeves. Both are identical gloves. The only difference is their green graphic/logo imprinted on the sleeves.

Dexterity = Great.
Fit = Great. Comfortable.
Sizing = Great. True to size.

Wild Roses: The gloves can handle them with only a few ouch moments.

Mature Himalayan blackberries: If you plan to grab hold of cut canes and yank them out, you WILL feel thorn pricks. A lighter grip on the cane will help ease the Ouch moments.

Young Himalayan blackberries and mature Evergreen blackberries: The gloves can handle pulling these canes out of the ground. No ouch moments.

Canada Thistle: The gloves can handle them - especially if you grab them from "underdeath" and pull up.

Bull Thistle: Ouch. Ouch. OUCH!!!!

4-stars because they are advertised as "Thorn Proof", otherwise they would have been 5-stars.
