I can't believe the athletic shoe industry hasn't switched over to this type of lacing! The most irritating thing about lace-up shoes is that they're constantly coming undone. Lock Laces don't come undone. They also make most sneakers slip-ons (almost) which means you can convert other pairs instead of buying new shoes. The other advantage is that they can be custom fit to any shoe or foot. I have a narrow foot and almost every lace-up shoe I buy has lots of left-over length dragging around when laced. I have to buy new laces anyway. Might as well get these. It's not easy to remove the end clip if you your shoes are worn out and you want to transfer them to another pair, but it can be done. On the negatie side, the laces are a bit stiff, and I would like some more color choices. Not much to complain about.

I cut about 2" from each and they work great. I can wear my tennies lose or pull them tight and tuck the longer excess under a lace for a run or workout. Very easy on and off. Will order more.

I'm so lazy that I'm now put-off by any lace-up shoe that I've not converted to these! Seriously; laces just suddenly seem so PIA! And it is such a small chore. But with these - boom! I've thrown a few sets away by cutting them too short. That makes for opening the shoe up enough for donning a bit of a problem. Now that I leave them fairly long, and tuck the over-hang, they are perfect. Loose if I'm just shufflin'. High and tight if I'm on a run or hard on the deck (sailing). And easy to kick and don again. Hard to imagine how they could be improved. I'm a fan. And I don't write many reviews. But these are just great. A simple solution to a minor chore, but so well done that they make me smile every time. Thanks Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. or Cis. or Other ... clever dude, dudette, altett - gracias, big time.

These are really a great replacement shoelace, imho, brilliant colors and shoes you can slip on and adjust easily. No more shoe laces that are too long or come untied and just the wrong time.
The one issue I have had with them, is that the ends have to be snipped off, in order to put them on the little snap enclosure. The ends somehow, unravel in the enclosure and then come loose from the plastic enclosure, a real pain. I am now taping the ends with scotch tape to determine if that will prevent that from happening.
I did break that plastic enclosure when paying it open, and LockLaces customer service was great about replacing the whole shoe lace, when all I need was the end piece. I am going to order 2 more pair.

I bought 5 pairs of these and have them in all my athletic shoes. I chose this brand because I like the plastic end cap, where other vendors just recommended tying the ends in a knot. I'm glad I chose these. The elastic is strong and stretchy, and the spring loaded slider is well made with a strong spring. Some gave negative reviews that they were too hard to depress the spring, but I like the firm grip/no slip. The feel of your shoes is completely transformed with these laces. The give in them makes lace up shoes much more comfortable, and when loose, they can be slipped on like slippers. I sometimes wear them loose around the house, and there are no dangling laces to worry about. One other nice feature is that the company has finished the ends like normal shoe laces to help you get them through the eyelets. One or two pairs of my shoes would have been very hard to lace without the hard ends. Also, the end clip can be re-opened if you need to resize the length of laces. A small screwdriver does the trick.

I originally purchased these for my daughter. Apparently canvas sneakers have made a resurgence in the "what's cool" market. Alas, according to my daughter, these were found to diminish the cool rating of her aforementioned foot fashion so they were straight out for her. Fortunately for me, a life's long annoyance has been cast off as a result of her rejection and my pleasant discovery. These are unexpectedly and profoundly perfect for my work boots.
A little back ground is in order. I am a carpenter and have been for most of my adult life, and as a result of my chosen occupation I have had the occasional displeasure of wearing boots on a daily basis. Don't get me wrong here mate, I love my boots. Not like a woman or a pint, but a deep affinity none the less. The only drawback with boots is they will forever be either too tight, cutting on the foot in some most inhospitable fashion, or coming untied at an utterly inconvenient moment. With these stringy elastic snappers I have suddenly come to know utter bliss. Who would have thought life's problems would have so easily shed away with the mere lacing of my leathers. They're always just tight enough, they don't come undone, and they secure my boot without slopping about. All round grand accomplishment I would say. I've attached a pic for those skeptics among us.
