Organic Granny here. For what I used it for, it was just as I hoped. These plastic spools hold 115 to 120 meters of 6 strand silk floss with room to spare. Which is 125 to 131 yards. Two spools can hold a hank of silk floss. I used a dowel in the spool and my finger and spun the hank off of a yarn swift. See Youtube for a DIY yarn swift using clothes hangers and clothes pins. I used a fine point Sharpie and wrote on the end.
