Fell in love with this.
J. FerraroJanuary 4, 2018
Up until now, I've always been bored and uninterested with eating apples. Having to cut them, and take out the seeds and the pithy core, and exercising my incisors like a rodent.
I fell in love with this gadget! It easily, peeled, cored and spiral-sliced the apples. I made a pig of myself. I ate 3 cold, yummy apples in one sitting. That is unusual for me.
Here is what I did: I moistened the bottom rubber base with water, and suctioned the unit to a large, glass dinner plate. And it held strongly. And all the drips and apple peels remained on the dinner plate.
To wash it, I just lifted the entire dinner plate, with the apple peeler still suctioned to it, and held it under running water. To dry it, I let the whole thing drip dry with my other dishes, and the plate and peeler are sitting at an angle on top of all my other drying dishes. That suction base, when moistened with water, is very strong. The peeler is still on the dinner plate, suctioned to it, and standing at an angle, drip drying!
I love this thing!
EDIT: this works great on the long necks of Butternut Squash. I just cut the long neck into 2 or 3 pieces and mounted them on the spiralizer peeler. The pieces were peeled perfectly. (I had to first move away the corer/slicer blade).
but they never seemed to hit the core correctly b/c you couldn't angle it easily. Or at least I couldn't

YES. JUST DO IT. Seriously. I waited for years, peeling and coring and slicing BUSHELS of apples every year by hand, which made the task take sooo long. I'd tried those hand held corer/slicers before, but they never seemed to hit the core correctly b/c you couldn't angle it easily. Or at least I couldn't, so I'd have to slice core off the apple slices on one side and waste perfectly good apple on the other. This little beauty, however, lets you spear the corer end right through at the angle you need, doesn't seem to take off more of the core than I would myself, and does the job so fast and easy. My KIDS can help now! Sure, gotta watch out for seeds with them a bit as their spearing technique is skewed, but so completely worth it to let them help, or just speed up the job on my own.
Makes peeling apples for pie or sauce a breeze!!

Super easy to use! I was a little surprised that the whole apple was sliced in a spiral, I thought it would just be peeled, but since I was making apple sauce this was perfect! The slices are uniform and the whole apple just slides off. I set the peeled, spiraled apple on the cutting board, cut it into 6ths and tossed it in the bowl. This would be great for making apple pie filling or anything where uniformly sliced apples are desirable. I am super happy with this purchase. I am a big apple sauce fan and just made a huge pot a few weeks ago. Peeling and slicing the apples took forever and really wore out the joints in my hand. Today, my granddaughter and I made a small pot of applesauce together and it was a breeze. She is only 3 so she loved getting to crank the handle and take the core off the spindle. The unit is solid and well made. I think it will last forever. The only issue I had was that the suction to the counter wouldn't work. I'm not sure what I did wrong because on the last apple I tried it one more time and this time it was stuck good! Super happy with this purchase!
best peeler i've had in a long time. great quality.

I ordered this mainly because, in my family and even friends we make a lot of apple pie all year around. So easily a convenient peeler like this one is essential because we don't want to have to peel the apples manually as none of us have the time specially myself as I have fibro this is way easier on my hands and wrists. One thing that I really admire about this peeler is the fact that it's a lot smaller version compared to my older one. Also with this peeler it accurately and securely suctions down to any smooth steady surface which is nice because it is convenient and easy to opporate and use. Set up is pretty easy , although I definitely almost forgot to screw in the handle my first time using this. all it took was a standard screw driver to secure the handle in. this peeled sliced and cored an apple in way less than a minute once i got it going which was also easy. total set up took less than 5 minutes and was vary easy and simple. even with out looking at the instructions, i felt this was so vary easy to use and set up. another thing is i'm impressed with how sturdy this was after i suctioned it I honestly did not expect such a high quality secure suction specially to my cutting board which is glass. but i've also tried this on my counter top and it works beautifully. pretty much any smooth surface this works on. this has honestly saved me so much time and effort when making my pies or some times i'll make apple crisp with it oh also i've been peeling potatoes with this lovely peeling device as it does an amazing job. also being that this peeler is not over sized it's easy not only to clean it but to also pack it up and bring it to my grandmothers house which i happen to do a bit, she also likes this peeler more than her previous ones. I'm definitely happy that I ordered this one and it's working really great for me. so easy simple to set up , use and clean. peels slices and cores to perfection, also as you see in the video it also works for the oddly smaller shaped apples which is awesome.
Better than doing large numbers of apples by hand.

I use my Spiralizer to prepare apples to dehydrate them for snacks while hiking, running around or just at home.  We figure they're a better snack than say a candy bar.

I'd rate it 3.5 if I had the option.... 3 is too low but four two high.

On one side I love how quickly it takes care of the apples, but I'm a bit disappointed at having to constantly readjust the blades as they change with prolonged cutting and even then, it either takes half the apple or leaves peeling behind on the slices.  There is no happy medium. Not sure what the answer is, but if that could be changes, I'd give it 5 stars.

I did find the suction cup sufficient to hold the device and the quality seems pretty good.

Wish: Slicing blade allowed for varying thickness of apple slices.
