Transitioning between the old style J1 head joint on my SP2 and the new NG1 style head joint on this flute was easy. Compared to my 2SP

I bought this flute as an upgrade to my 20 year old 2SP. Transitioning between the old style J1 head joint on my SP2 and the new NG1 style head joint on this flute was easy. Compared to my 2SP, this flute is more resonate and can play higher harmonics more easily and has great action. By no means is this a "black" colored flute, more smokey grey, but this suits me fine because I'm looking for a more "vintage" look in my "new" flute and I plan to let it tarnish to blend in with the rest of my instruments!
The flute plays beautifully, but I've had the flute for 9 months ...

The flute plays beautifully, but I've had the flute for 9 months and it is tarnishing so badly. I clean and wipe down my flute after every time I play, but cannot prevent the ugly tarnish. I'm not quiet sure if there's a way to get it cleaned well because there'e not a lot of information on these types of flute with this finish.
Not Remotely the Color Shown

The flute is amazing but the color is absolutely nothing like the photo. This instrument is not strikingly black at all but rather just a slight dark silver. When I first opened it, I actually thought the wrong instrument had been shipped to me. I will let it tarnish to darken over time but if you're purchasing this instrument at all for the aesthetics, you will be disappointed.
While the insrument itself is solid and responsive in all registers, I cannot in good conscience leave a positive review with such a large discrepancy in the listing.

Gemeinhardt still rocks the flute industry! small shop, made in America!

I got this new flute to replace the very old model (1976) that I had played since high school and college band. I love, love, love this flute! the new finish is simply gorgeous. I've gotten tons of compliments on it. It is made in America, unlike Yamaha and others that many band and orchestra teachers are now recommending. No thanks, I am staying with made in America in the small Gemeinhardt shop.
Love, love

Love, love, love the sound of this flute, but very disappointed in the color. It's only a slightly darker silver than the mouthpiece and keys.
