Strong material, sturdy beyond average.

This worked great for my aerial yoga setup. I hired someone to build the support system for an aerial yoga system that had to be attached to the studs up in the attic. These were attached in my gym/room on the ceiling. It worked perfectly. I didn't use the carabiners (ordered a different kind). Five stars for its hardiness.

Just hung my 48" wood swing from a 4x10 beam in our back yard. Used 3/8" x 3.5" lag screws with washers. Drilled 5/16" pilot hole. Put some wax on the lag screws - probably not necessary, but heard it helped ease the screw into the wood. That swing is not going anywhere! For the first time, I was not afraid to sit on the swing.... I'm 6' and 235lbs.
The swing swings noiselessly and very smoothly. I was afraid of squeaks or rubbing sound. Not a sound. I'm very glad I splurged on these swing hangers. The galvanized lag screws and washers were about $5 at Home Depot. All in all, well worth the money!

The Good: Great stuff

The Good: Great stuff. Probably last a lifetime. Held my over two hundred pound frame for 5 seconds just to make sure.after installing for my grandson.
The Bad: Not one bit of identifying material, install instructions, suggestions on spacing etc. Nuts on the bolts holding the clevis to the bracket are big enough to impede placing washers and nuts on the bolts you will have to buy to install these. For future buyers, on mine, Installation bolts are 1/2". I forgot to bring one to the store so a return trip was required. I planned to double nut them to make sure they stayed on but couldn't spin the nut because it hit the nut on the clevis bolt. yes, I could have backed off the installation bolt and then tightened by spinning the bolt but that would have involved taking the other hardware off.. Again, instructions would have helped.
Overall: I would buy these in a heartbeat since I am now familiar with the pitfalls.

HEAVY DUTY - Look no further

I purchased these swing hangers to put on a wooden pirate ship playhouse and swing set I built for my kids. These hangers are HEAVY DUTY. You have to supply your own hex bolts, but they were readily available at my local hardware store. I am 275lbs and these hangers are rock solid. My children have put them to the test as well. I'm planning to expand the play set and will be purchasing more of these hangers. They would also make excellent hangers for a porch swing as well.

These swing hinges are installed and working great. I applied a few drops of machine oil and they are completely silent. I used 1/2 x 3.5 inch lag screws to attach the hinges to the 4x8 patio beam. (3/8" pilot hole worked well.) I used these for a children's swing. I am counting on the weight rating being realistic as I am planning to install a wooden patio swing and use another set of these hinges for a more substantial weight. They are pretty hefty hinges and it looks obvious that the limiting component will be the carabiner.
