This is the first puck of soap I've bought since starting to shave with a DE razor. It was a little smaller than I thought but I put it in the stainless bowl I bought and warmed that in a pot of boiling water the soap took the shape of the bowl just fine. The lather is very thick and slick and makes shaving a breeze. The lavender smell is juuust enough and does not linger so if you use aftershave or lotion there is no conflicting smells. All in all I'm quite pleased and will be ordering more when this runs out.

The soap arrived exactly as advertised and quickly! My husband watched the video (yes, they include a link to a video offering tips on how to achieve a great 'barber's shave) and lathered up! He said it was a great shave with a balanced fragrance. The lather was thick and foamy. The only regret he had was that he didn't have time to do a second shave as suggested. Yes, we'll buy again when this runs low.

My hubby started shaving with a safety razor using the Henry Cavendish shaving soap. I loved the smell, loved the idea of shaving my legs and other areas with a safety razor, and loved lavender. When he purchased my own shaving set up, he bought this lavender lathering soap for me. I love it! It smells great while shaving giving you that aromatherapy feel but after you are done, it does not interfere with any other scents of lotion, oils or perfume, or cologne you enjoy. The service is great too! They provide follow up emails and tips and tricks. Their customer service is the best I've experienced in a long time.
Ok, but there are much better options.

I purchased this shave soap based on all the reviews and its #1 rating. The soap does have a feminine smell but i did not mind since it did not last long. The soap did ok lathering but it did not give me the extra protection i get from other soaps. If I had to make the purchase again i would probably skip it and spend a little more to get a great shaving soap.

I thought I would try another brand of soap so I started reading and surching. After a lot of reasurch, I tried Henry Cavendish and WOW! It's great. Soap is not rocket science but this soap excels in all departments.The company even sent a follow up email to see if I had any questions and links to how to lather it. I've been shaving 50 years and the videos actually thought me something, so you can teach an old dog new tricks!
