I use this to control an iLiving - 16" Wall Mounted Exhaust Fan. I installed it in a 2-gang box along with a single pole double throw (spdt) (aka 3-way switch). Used the spdt switch to have the option of automatic or manual fan operation. Used a normal 2-gang switch cover plate and it fit fine. Works perfectly. Looks good too.

Purchased for a fireplace that has two blowers. One on each side. Had purchased one thru local hardware store and did not work like original. Controls PSC motor speed

I'm using this controller to slow down a 3 amp .5 HP 120 volt PSC motor. It's running inline from the 120v Hot to the motor Primary. Do not run this controller to the motor secondary winding/capacitor. Unfortunately it won't lower the speed enough for what I'm looking for but that's my mistake not the controller's. I was aiming for closer to 20-30 RPM but the motor is rated at around 1100 rpm, not anywhere near slow enough for my needs.
