This is the best silver solder I've ever worked with
James Van Horn•December 27, 2017
This is the best silver solder I've ever worked with. Normally silver solder is tricky since it doesn't flow or stick as easy as typical lead solder. But this works very nice. I also enjoy the thin size so you can easily position it up and over items. It has an odor to it that is unlike any other solder. It's hard to explain... maybe if you were to mix metal and a strawberry together.
Great stuff

I use this solder exclusively on the high end studio and audiophile audio cables I assemble in the shop. While I don't know that I believe it improves audio quality, it's far easier to work with than normal solder, saves me time in production (especially when it's high volume), and creates very strong joints that resist corrosion. My understanding is it will improve corrosion resistance long term, and it seems to. I've also never had a failed joint with this solder, on any of the thousands of cables I made (and some musicians are very abusive to cables). So while I'll use Multicore solder for my electronics prototyping and Kester for regular jobs, anything really important strength- and signal- wise usually gets Cardas. And it's made here in Oregon, which I love.
