Key features

  • SIZE AND COLOR: 220 cm (Length) x 120 cm (Width) x 100 cm (Height). The size of the net is adjusted to suit a single camping bed and its army green color blends very well into the surroundings.
  • SUSPENSION POINT AT THE HEAD SECTION: Included in the packaging is an adjustable cord that can be attached between the loop in the top of the head section and any tree branch. This will give you extra space near the head and make you more comfortable when inside the net.
  • NOTE: The net is designed so that the last bit is tucked under your sleeping mat. There is no built-in floor in this net.
  • STUFF SACK: Easy to store and pack downs small in the included stuff sack. The bag is 12x12x17cm, but can be pressed down to 11x12x11cm.

Be easy on it and don't expect a quarantine chamber.

Went on a big hike and I wanted to keep out mosquitoes, scorpoions, and close bat fly-bys. The included rope was just long enough for a good spot under a big branch of the tree... and taller of a tree and I would have had to supplement with parachute cord. I was happy to find out that setting up was really easy. The only problem I had was that I couldn't get a good seal from the bottom, if I made the corners tight, in the ground. When I had a friend help me stretch it tight to anchor in, I found the middle lifting up. This would allow bugs and other critters to crawl in. I believe I ended up putting water bottles and clothes here to block it out a little. Last, I wish there was a zipper door to walk in and out of because I had to lift the sides to get in and out (where my broken seal was) and it was a bit clumsy. I think the pulling I do to get in and out will eventually lead to a tear or will end up pulling out an anchor. Since it was the first time I use this, nothing broke.
Wrong net for my purposes, great customer service

Forgive me for the oversight, but I bought this net not for camping but anticipating that I could use it on a mission trip where we slept on bunks indoors in a room with open windows. I also thought I'd use it for camping, but more immediately needed it for the mission trip. So if you're looking for a net to hang over a single bed, this isn't it. It's too small. Shame on me for assuming it would probably work both indoors and out. The problem with using it indoors is that it hangs from one point over the bed and the stakes are to be used to anchor it into the ground. It will probably work well for this. If you try to use it indoors like I did, you will need hooks or something else to anchor in the four corners. I assumed it would be large enough to hang over the sides of the bed, but I was wrong. I ended up really uncomfortable and mostly sleeping under the net like an additional sheet, which offered me no protection at all from bugs that landed directly on me and were able to bite through the net. I've attached a photo of my bed. I traveled with two others who bought nets - one the same style as this but larger (worked fine) and another who bought a pop up net on Amazon that worked perfectly that I will buy for next time instead of this. In summary - this net is too small to use on a single bed indoors. Probably good for camping.

EDIT/UPDATE:
The Friendly Swede contacted me after this review and followed up on my critique of the product. My review still stands in most part, as this was my experience with the product although I should not have expected this type of bed net to work for my particular trip. That said, the company was willing to hear me out on my review, seemed genuinely interested in my feedback, and offered me a refund or exchange for my trouble. That's really great customer service. I'll also point out that they did not ask me to update my review in light of this - I wanted to update this myself and make sure that anyone considering this net knows that a) there are some situations for which it may not be ideal and b) this company has truly excellent customer service. If you are camping, as many of the other reviewers seem to be, then this will probably be a great net.
Did a good job at keeping mosquitos out

Worked as expected. Light. Came with cord and 4 light stakes. If you were stuck in some Malaria invested region, I would get something with full enclosure/zipper. But this worked for sleeping in a bivy sac in the High Sierra in CA without the need for full on tend. For more security, one could try a different stake that had edges to prevent the stake from rotating in the ground (which would cause the canopy to come off at the stake).
I liked it.
Recommended, but you should understand the product limitations

Recommended, but you should understand the product limitations. It is very light weight, but just a small amount of wind will distort the shape and potentially raise an edge. Rocks or downed wood can be used to secure the edges. It is inexpensive, and that is partially achieved by no floor, and no zippered entry. I added a floor using a frost king storm window kit with double-sided tape, but I need to put the floor edge on the outside of the netting as quite a bit of wind separated the floor from the net. As to entry, if the net is staked tight enough to be effective, I had to unhook one corner from its' stake, then re-hook when inside. An acceptable process for a few nights given the cost and weight.
The only problem was the plastic hook on the center cord broke, and I suspect a replacement would too, so I'll replace it with something else.
Considering that all I needed was a bug shelter for a few nights, this was a worthy purchase that allowed my 3 lb tent to stay home.
Noseeum free zone with a breeze

The net I received is a great product. We have had record amounts of rain here in the south and now we have an infestation of mosquitos because of it. Used the net camping last weekend and it kept all the little devils off me while I slept while still allowing the light wind to cool me off. Because it's so humid here even at night I prefer to sleep without a sheet over me which I can do in a tent but I always had to sacrifice the cool breeze to do it. Now that I can sleep in the open with just a tarp over me I'll enjoy my camping trips even more. If this sounds like something you've been wanting or if you just want somewhere to go during the day to escape from the noseeums then I highly recommend you buy this for yourself.
