The 3-pin tongue blew out after using them for less than three months on cross country ski trails. They are still under warranty but Alpina, Live to Play, and Amazon would not deal with the return. Alpina stated the damage was under warranty but none of the entities involved would step up to the plate, therefore this product was a waste of my hard earned money.

This is a great boot for touring and covering distance, good out of the box comfort with excellent control for Telemark or parallel turning. I bought these to go with Fisher S-bound 98, no-wax skis, mostly for long distance light touring with occasional down-hill skiing. I have been very happy with these, way more comfortable than any of my plastic boots I use for AT skiing. Not recommended for all day lift service skiing.

Perhaps the best all-around XCD boot you can get in my opinion. It offers great control for the downhills yet is comfortable on the up and flats. My only word of caution is be careful in sizing. It seems to go a bit large.
