This knife holder cannot hold a knife. It's being returned.
Trouble even before installing

Two stars because the product mentions screws, which aren't in the packaging. And also while pulling off the plastic sheet between the mounting plate and the bracket, the magnets protective covering tore and started to peel off.

I had one of these about 30 yrs. ago and I loved it. Don't know what happened to it, but decided to get another after all this time because I needed drawer space. It fits nicely on my fridge (on the side of it) not visible to people as they dine or walk through the kitchet. Easy to grab on when needed. I would suggest to everyone who needs counter space that your wooden block knife holder may be taking up to get one of these. You will love it. I purchased some Command Strip velcro strips that are very strong. Stuck two on each end to the back side of knife holder, left screws neatly packed in the back of bar and stuck it to the fridge. Pressed hard on each end for 30 seconds and left it overnight. Put knives, scissors on it next day and voila!! all is great. No screws needed.
Very nice, works well and is easy to clean.

It seems to be very well made. It is very easy to clean and the magnet is quite strong - once the knife is within about 1.5 inches, it will snatch it from your hand. Wipe it down with a Clorox disinfectant wipe & you are good to go!
The only suggestion I would make is to put the size of the drill bit needed (1/4") somewhere obvious. Unless you have set of carbide tipped drill bits sitting around, you will need to buy one if drilling through ceramic tile as I did. It would be nice to know what size you need so that you can order it ahead of time and be ready to install it when the rack shows up rather than having to wait for arrival, take the screw to the hardware store or order it from Amazon & wait a few more days. It has nothing to do with the quality of the item but would be a little more considerate of the consumer.

Love it. I mounted it on the under side of my cabinet and the knife bar and knives are out of view.
