This is a nice, large mat. My only complaint is that the surface of the mat is not flat. The stitching causes a series of diamond shapes to cover the whole thing, and those shapes are transferred to any thin fabrics that are being pressed. It's not a problem for cottons and thicker materials, but the mat doesn't work well for thin fabrics.

Allows steam to pass through to the surface you're using to iron on, so I would NOT use this on a wood table or anything that will be damaged by water. Works perfectly on my counter, and it's much easier than pulling out an ironing board.

Really nice large mat to iron on! Love that it has magnets in the corners to hold it into a metal surface. I really put it to the test on a large plastic table. It worked well and only warm under the mat and the table wasn't damaged. So, it does what it says and has ample surface area to iron anything.

the quilting allows steam to pass through the mat...and this damaged my wood dining table. Better only use this on a metal ( washer or dryer, for example) surface, or you will be sorry.

We wanted an extra-large ironing mat that we could put on a board that we have attached to the wall in the laundry room. We needed a hard surface for steaming garments. My husband wanted me to make a pad but instead I found one that I could buy which is far superior than anything I could possibly make and costs less. I have owned another ironing mat that wasn't quilted and I can say that they are not good for ironing. The lack of quilting causes the fabric to shift and wrinkle and those wrinkles are ironed into your clothes. This mat is quilted which holds the fabric in place. It also is padded which protects any surface underneath it from heat or steam. The mat also has magnets in each corner helping to hold the mat in place. It is big enough to press slacks and longer garments. All-in-all a very nice product.
