After reading MANY reviews on the concert size...
Daniel D. CashOctober 6, 2017
...I bought this. Been playing a tenor size for about a month. The tenor I have is a different brand. I'm a beginner. I bought this Caramel for my wife and daughter to tinker around with since they seem interested in joining me in my hobby. So far it has held its tune quite well and has a comparable sound as my tenor. I can play this uke easily; I was curious if a concert size would be too small as my tenor. The fret board is a good size for my hands(I can palm a basketball) yet my 8 year old daughter can grip it as well.
The only drawback was one of the pegs that you twist to tune was jiggly right out the box and caused the uke to have a funny sound, but I took a eyeglass screwdriver and slightly tightened it. Golden now
LOVE IT!

To be honest, I didn't expect much from a $38 uke (the cheapest ones at Long & McQuade were over $50 and they looked like toys), but this is a lovely instrument. I've played it every night since it came! It took a few days (no more than 4) for the strings to stretch and get settled, but it sounds great! I have a friend whose father builds/collects ukuleles and she said the sound is very nice. The strings are pretty good quality and have a nice warm ring when played. The body is soft and well sanded, as is the fretboard. The bridge is different than the one shown in the picture (it uses bridge pins, not a tie-bar), but I actually prefer the bridge pins, so that was fine (it makes it less likely that the bridge will pop off over time). It's also very light, which makes it super easy to carry around. The action is a pretty good height and there's very little fret buzz. Overall, it's a great instrument and worth easily twice its price. This is probably the happiest I've ever been with an Amazon purchase. :)

Update after 1 month: Still love it. The strings stay in tune after a couple weeks, once they've had time to settle/stretch. I played with some ukuleles at the music store in town and they don't sound nearly as nice as the Caramel concert. It's got a really nice warm sound that I just love. Still playing it every day without issue!

Update after 2 month: Still love it. I'm not going to update this every month, but I ran into an issue that seemed worth mentioning. The bridge pins are REALLY hard to take out. I've used bridge pins on acoustic guitars without any problems, but I'm having a lot of trouble with them on this uke. They are way too snug in the bridge, to the point where I had to pry them out with a plastic spoon and some fishing line. They're easy to use once they've been taken out (they don't pop back out when installing new strings), but taking them out is incredibly frustrating.
Beautiful ukulele!

This is my first ukulele, so I dont have much to compare to, but I love this thing! It is very lightweight, yet doesnt feel cheap. I have always wanted to learn guitar, but my fingers are too short and too weak to hold down the strings. Ive even tried lighter strings, and even purchased a child sized guitar. But I just get frustrated. This ukulele is perfect! Ive only had it a couple weeks and I can actually play several songs! Im so excited! I ultimately hope that learning the ukulele will help me to work up to the guitar. I havent given up yet!!
Perfect for beginners!!

Originally bought this to teach others ukulele. It is an excellent first uke if you're looking to learn! It's 21" long and a good size. I highly recommend buying a set of strings to go with it (Aquila brand) because the ones it comes with are not great. This uke is a lot of fun and is a great bargain. Just be careful around the gears on the back of the tuning mechanisms- mine began to loosen and I had to tighten them to the head after only a few weeks.
A little too deeply in love...

This such a great ukulele! It's extremely good quality, and the price is perfect. Because of the great price it's a great starter uke for beginners, yet still maintaining fantastic quality. This is my first (and hopefully my last) uke and I've already fallen in love with it after having it for less than a month. Some of my friends too (who also own ukes that are over $100) have been impressed by this ukulele's quality. My only complaint is that it doesn't keep a tune for very long, and I have to retune it everyday (and every other day if I'm lucky). I know that each time you play you're supposed to do a few minor changes if the uke needs it but I find that mine needs quite a bit of tuning. It's not too big of a hassle however, because I've gotten used to it and it's all part of maintaining an instrument's quality, but I just wish that I didn't have to majorly tune it each time I played (as it can occasionally be a nuisance). Other than that, I've been pretty impressed with this beautiful ukulele, and hope that it will certainly last for years to come.
