If you're the kind of person who does vehicle installations, this tape is for you! TESA tape is not like your standard black electrical tape. TESA tape is the tape your vehicle manufacture uses to protect most of your vehicle wiring harnesses. This particular tape is external with a heat/flame resistance. This is best suited for engine compartments, or exposure to the elements. If you're doing interior work, TESA tape has a sister that is much softer and meant for inside the vehicle. I also highly recommend it. This does have a shelf life, so if you don't use a lot of it, try not to stock it for long periods of time or you could be faced with some adhesive reduction.
Other brands may have similar functionality, but this is the only brand I trust and can depend on. Highly recommend!

Love the normal cloth Tesa tape, although this is the better product for any application that you WON'T need to unwrap later. This stuff is extremely sticky and doesn't undo itself without a fight. It also looks better, is more durable, and can withstand heat and the elements. Love using it to finish ends of car audio speaker cables, as well as electronics installs on my boat. This tape is truly heavy duty and will give your wiring a factory look.

I know people have a hard time getting excited over tape or wire looms, but this stuff is the premium tape used by Mercedes and BMW. Not only does it provide a unique finished look to the wiring harnesses, but once applied offers very nice heat and abrasion protection. How do I know this??? Well, I have used this stuff on welding cables where they are prone to rubbing on corners and towards the end of the cables that see a lot of scuffing. As in being used and pulled over various items while welding or jig placement. This stuff works very well, and I have been buying it from a local Mercedes dealer. Buy it from the Amazon, the cost savings is phenomenal and it is EXACTLY the same tape, just arrives in a plain bag rather than some fancy embossed box with Mercedes emblem on it. Buy some, and then you'll be prepared. Give is as a gift. Serious, this tape is amazing, and it works very well on wire harnesses too!!

I bought this heat tape that is supposed to be go I d up to 150 degrees c. I used it to seal seams on a wood burning stove pipe. This stuff melted like it was electrical tape very disappointed

I use this tape often in my car audio builds. It is currently protecting 20' +-. I re-routed some of the 1/0 gauge and the only bad thing about this tape is removing it, omg what a pain! I considered throwing the piece away but at $6.50 a foot I decided against it.. You can rest assured It def does its job. And looks good while doing it
