I have the world's choosiest cat. This is further complicated by her on and off issues with her urinary tract. So back in 2015 we tried this food out and she loved it. She didn't like the original which was chicken slices in gravy "“ too much work for Her Majesty to chew. However, the Chicken Entrée is close enough to being a pate that she no longer had a problem with the big chunks. After feeding this to her for a couple of weeks, I then confidently (foolhardedly?) ordered 2 cases and... she put her little nose up in the air and said "No more!". Sigh...

I then moved forward on a quest to find a new food that Her Majesty would eat. All the while, I kept the Pro Plan in my pantry thinking that I would give it away at some point to a shelter. Well, fast forward 18 months, and Her Majesty turned her nose up at another food that I thought she liked. (Side note... her aversions do not happen gradually... it's a sudden "I don't like this anymore" that kind of takes your breath away due to how quickly she changes her mind.) What to do?

With bated breath, I hesitantly pulled open the door of my pantry to start my search for the stockpiled ProPlan Focus Urinary Tract Chicken Entrée cans. I know what you're thinking. Why bother? And yes, that had been my first thought. But my second thought was... Why not? All she could do was say "No!" (Or more likely "Meow, no!"). So I put half a can of the food in a bowl, turned on some mood lighting and soft music, and in a groveling manner (making sure to avert my eyes from her visage) placed the bowl near Her Majesty's throne. And, SHE LIKED IT! She cleaned her bowl quickly, but in a very ladylike and regal manner, of course. Now - many days later, she continues to feast on this nectar of the gods. The kingdom was gleeful for a time.

And then - today for fun I tried to slip some of her old favored food to her (not Pro Plan) and I could see that she was about to go full Alice-In-Wonderland Queen of Hearts on me ("Off with your head!"). I quickly removed the offending food from her presence and replaced with her favored Purina Pro Plan Focus Urinary Tract Chicken Entrée (with full orchestral accompaniment, of course). She is now lounging on her throne, waving her scepter around in an imperious manner, and knighting everyone that passes by. But all is well in the kingdom (for now) and peace has been restored. If you too are seeking peace and harmony from your own little despot, may I suggest trying the Purina Pro Plan Focus Urinary Tract food? You will be happy you did.
Cat Approved

I have 11 indoor cats and another 6 who find their way to my yard at mealtime. 16 out of 17 cats love this food. I think that is a great approval rating! One of our cats had serious digestive issues and was being treated by our vet. In addition to prescription meds, we added Vitapet Probiotic Powder Blend For Dogs and Cats with 5 Billion CFU Per Serving with food daily. Larry's appetite improved after he started on this and is back to normal now and we are continuing the supplement as his weight improves. We were pleased to find this probiotic available at a good price through Amazon, and have it on autoship. Thanks, Vitapet, for offering this product!
Good food for a cat with urinary problems.

My cat had serious urinary track track problems 3 years ago requiring $3000.00 surgery to clear stones. The vet prescribed prescription Cd but my cat would hardly eat it. He lost weight. I tried everything then I discovered Friskies Urinary health wet cat food. All was well until Purina discontinued that product line. I called them and they said to try their new Pro Plan Focus food. My cat will only eat this flavor and the chicken flavor but the key is he is eating it. So far he has not had any more health problems My vet just tested him and his urinary track was clean. So I am happy and just hope he keeps liking it. More brands are available but this is the best priced and the vet said he is doing great. I just wish it came in larger cans. Amazon's price is much better then the local pet stores. With Prime I get it in 2-3 days.
Popular And Beneficial - Great Choice In Many Ways

***UPDATE***10/18/16***
Today I received a new case of the UTHF Chicken Entre that I ordered on 10/16/16. I opened the first can and it is different from previous cans/cases- it's much more liquidy - the texture is different (less chunky, more ground) - the smell is similar, but not exactly the same. The worst part is that he won't eat it! I opened a 2nd and 3rd can- hoping there were just a few odd ones, but they are all the same. I still had 1 can from the previous case, so I opened it and, sure enough, he dug right in. What has happened??? Did I get a case that's from the bottom of the batch or has the formula changed? Do I shell out for another case and hope it turns out okay again? This is really frustrating. I'd love to know if anyone else has had this same problem.

This Pro Plan UT formula has not only been a HUGE hit with my 7 y/o feline friend, it has made a noticeable improvement in his overall health. Because he is an indoor cat, urinary tract issues are my main concern as he gets older. I transitioned him to this formula about 2 months ago and I've seen an improvement in his energy and appearance. Best of all, he LOVES it!! Dinner time has become a much more anticipated event. He's always had the chicken variety, so I tried the whitefish in my last order. It was a total BOMB - DUD - NO SALE...! He absolutely wound not touch it. So, it's back to the chicken. I'm afraid he will get tired of it, but maybe not. I don't want to get stuck with another case of food he won't eat, but I'd like to at least test out the other couple of available flavors. My usual shopping destinations (Kroger, Target, etc...) don't stock it and I've checked a couple others without success. My next plan is to try a big chain pet place. I'm hoping to find it sold by single cans and get one of each variety to test his highness's opinion. All cat owners (aka their "staff") know how that is. It's just part of the joy- or so I tell myself. But, the bottom line is that this food has proved both popular and beneficial and I'd certainly recommend it.
cheaper than at the pet store!

After my cat had to have emergency surgery due to a life threatening kidney stone blockage the vet recommended we try this brand of urinary tract cat food to prevent future stones. I was previously buying it at the pet store which was pretty expensive but certainly less expensive than another $4k surgery! My husband was the one to suggest we try to get it cheaper offline which I thought would be impossible once you took into account the shipping cost. However we have amazon prime so we don't have to pay shipping for this. I was happily surprised to find that it was indeed cheaper to buy it here. Plus it only takes two days to show up and on a few occasions it has arrived earlier, even once on the same day. My cat is a picky eater but luckily he loves this brand. If you have a male cat be warned, they are prone to urinary problems which can be both life threatening and extremely expensive to fix. If I even get another male cat I won't take any chances and will put them on this food once they are off kitten food. IMO it's worth it to avoid the pain and expense of kidney stones.
