I should have gotten one much earlier. This fan really projects the heat forward, in our case it pushes it into the staircase from the basement to the upstairs. We noticed immediately how the temperature increased upstairs. I have a pellet stove in the living room, and our living space, living room, kitchen and dining room is one open space. I have a wood stove in the basement of our split level rancher. We ran the pellet stove a lot less with a fire going in the basement. Don't worry that you don't feel a clear breeze coming off the fan, it works!
A great fan!

We've been using this for several months on top of a gas stove. It really helps move the air. It's silent and works well. A great investment.
Works great

Works so well and makes all the difference with our wood stove. If you are expecting it to work like a cooling fan and force a lot of air, it won't. Moves warm air slowly, so it doesn't cool it. Also, keep in mind your stove needs to get up to a certain temp for it to work. Sometimes you have to really stoke a wood stove at first to get it burning hot. Our house used to take all day to heat with just the wood stove. Now it only takes a few hours for even our entire upstairs to get warm. I'd buy a second one for better effieciency in a larger home.
Excellent Fan!

Impressive fan! I really feel the difference with/without...I'm happy making this purchase. I bought the fan in order to place it on my Norwegian wood stove, which has a rough cast iron surface on the top of the stove, so I was worried whether the surface contact will be efficient enough to transfer the heat from the stove to the fan. Surprisingly, the fan blows efficiently, starting almost 3 minutes after stove startup and provides excellent circulation of hot air in the room.
Highly recommended.

Niffy heat powered fan, atop a double burner griddle pan
anonymous•October 7, 2017
Niffy looking little fan, definitely a conversation piece, works fine, so far, atop a double burner griddle pan, over a stove top, for those times when a little extra heat is needed, for whatever reasons.
Comes with a neat looking thermometer, with a handle.
Unattended operation is inadvisable.
The absence of a fan blade cover, makes it a fan, for folks sans rug rats.
Positioning the fan, atop the double burner griddle pan, over the right rear burner, allows the right front burner (9,100 BTU) to be set on a high setting, without exceeding the 482℉ maximum, during a 30 minute test.
Avoided the 482℉, as much as possible, as that would cause the motor to overheat, according to the thin owner document, didn't want to squander the $59.99 expenditure.
The thin owner manual does not mention what happens when 482℉ is exceeded.
Your results will be different, as burners have different BTU ratings.
