I was quite happy to receive my Hot Tea Maker after reading all of the wonderful reviews. It was very easy to set up, use & make lovely tea. I was careful to read & follow all cleaning directions to care for the carafe properly. After each use, it was rinsed and dried or air dried before retuning to the base. After less than 8 uses, there appeared a rust line on the interior of the carafe. I tried to clean it but after the next use, it was more distinct. Stainless steel should not be showing rust after use.

I have been using this tea kettle everyday for about a month. I have been very happy with this purchase!
Pros:
-Very easy to use.
-Heats water quickly.
-Keeps tea warm for 60 minutes, boiling water warm for 30 minutes.
-Beeps when water has reached the desired temperature, beeps when steeping is done, & beeps wlhen you turn it off. Some have complained about the beeps but I really like this feature. I find the beeps helpful and not annoying at all.
-I did hours of research before I purchased this kettle. This is one of the few that does not have plastic that comes into contact with the water. There is some plastic on the outside of the lid but the water does not touch this. The inside of the lid is metal.
-The tea I have made has a wonderful flavor. I love the fine mesh infuser. It keeps all the tea leaves inside so no need to strain the tea before drinking it. I empty the infuser as soon as I take it out of the kettle and then rinse the remaining tea leaves out.
Cons:
-The bottom of the kettle is metal. I have tea stains and mineral deposits on this metal after each use. I clean all of the tea stains and some of the mineral deposits off after each use by using some baking soda and a wash cloth. All of the mineral deposits can be removed by using equal parts water and vinegar and let it sit overnight. I do this once a week. Looks like new again!

I am so happy I bought this Mr Coffee tea maker! I don't know how I have been surviving without it! I got it today and immediately washed it and made Chanca Piedra tea. I have been making this tea for over a year for my husband kidney stones and before I did it the old fashioned way by boiling in a pan and I never liked the tea because I tasted strong but now even I will drink more tea! The tea was just right!! I love it and I would recommend to anyone!! BTW I don't usually write reviews because it's a lot of work but this one deserves some attention!! Thank you Mr Coffee!

The Mr. Coffee kettle disappointed right out of the box when it proved defective, failing to turn off. Amazon's great customer service was ready to replace it, however I didn't like the design enough to try another one. It is very bulky and obtrusive on the counter top. Instead I purchased the Molla Puro kettle and am very happy with both its much sleeker European look and very efficient operation.

I was beginning to lose hope in my search for a new electric tea kettle. I wanted glass to minimize toxins from water touching too much Made in China metal or plastic since I drink tea all day. However, after returning three kettles, yes three, for defects such as odor from the seal at the bottom of the pot as well as not working at all, I have finally found one that appears to be perfect..

I returned two Brevilles tea kettles, both of them stopped working after 24 - 48 hours and also had a bad taste in the water from the rubber seal and a Kitchenaide. The Kitchenaide worked fine, but had the strongest plastic/rubber odor in the pot that refused to go away even after many boiled pots and repeated cleanings to try to get the smell out.

The Mr. Coffee works well, is compact, and doesn't have any significant odor in the kettle. Eureka!!!
