Just received this today and already love it. I really wanted a Sig with the sight rail on it but got a good deal on this one. So, when I found this Recover product, I was certainly interested. For the most part it already has great reviews so I trusted it would work. Installed in seconds and looks awesome. Just what the gun needed. Now I can add a light/laser combo for home defense. Make sure to install all screws before tightening any of them. Gives you a good chance to make sure the two halves are aligned and in the best position. Then tighten screws. I was a little concerned with the feel of the plastic versus the original soft rubber grips but you can hardly tell the difference. I'll add to the reveiw after a few hundred rounds. Just received my .45ACP AAC Tirant so I'm really iching to put some rounds through it.

I have been trying to find a good way to get a rail on my Taurus PT 1911 for some time now. This grip has been an excellent solution.
First I want to start with describing the overall quality. It is extremely comfortable and fits nicely into my hand. It is extremely durable and hasn't shown scratches even with me hitting it a bit. I got mine in phantom grey and it accents my 1911 perfectly.
Second on the list is the only negative I have. Once installed, there is a little bit of a gap underneath the trigger guard near the magwell. It is such a slight gap but knowing it's there bothers me a little. I'm not giving this any lower than 5 stars as this product fits such a wide range of 1911s that it would be unfair to give a low rating due to my slight issue.

The Recover Tactical Grip and Rail System does exactly what they say, it gives you a good sized tactical rail mount on your 1911 pistol without ruining the ergonomics of the gun. I mounted mine on an inexpensive ATI Govenment Model Deluxe. Fit was about 95% perfect except for a tiny amount of gapping near the top of the front strap. 1911 frames vary a bit size wise, so slight fitment issues are expected. Nothing a bit of sanding wouldn't cure. The grip is comfortable for a hard plastic and my Tactical flashlight fit the rail perfectly.
All in all, I can highly recommended the ReCover CCH3 as an inexpensive and practical way to make a railless 1911 into a modern Tactical accessory friendly pistol.

I'm pretty happy with this product overall. It looks awesome (see photos). It IS made of hard plastic, but the grip feels good. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is a gap down the middle of the system that I don't like as opposed to it fitting flush together.
All-In-All Good Rail System

My older 1991A1 didn't have picatinny rails on it and I wanted night capability by some means. I didn't want to modify the pistol by putting on tritium sights because I'd still have to tote a flashlight of some sort, so this looked like a viable alternative. It took about 5 minutes to remove the stock grips on the pistol and place the new rails on the pistol and the fit was perfect. The attachable LED flashlight slides on flawlessly and the flashlight will also fit a Sig 357 I own that has stock rails on it. The only downside to this rail system is the molded hard plastic grips. I am more accustomed to rubberized grips and, while the hard plastic grips have ridges to help grip, they could be a bit slippery especially in inclimate weather. I hope I never have the opportunity to find out. All in all, this is a good rail system if, like me, yours didn't come with one.
