i wanted something comfortable and functional, this was it .. i seem to constantly pull my shoulder out of place, and the usual doctor visit is an xray, pain shot, and shoulder wrap...now i take care of it with this sling .. it's very comfortable once you get it set to the position you need and after a while you really don't notice it unless it's your primary hand or arm ... it's well built and it should last some time .. it's also easy to put on and adjust the straps to your comfort level .... it's great to have around for those times when you want to self medicate and relax with a beer

More contoured and definitely more comfortable than a more standard sling. Well worth the extra cost. Venting is a good idea. I would like to have a detachable top layer so it would be cooler.

I had a reverse shoulder replacement done by an HMO. I got the cheapy DonJoy stabilizer. I used that one last year with my first replacement and had nothing but uncomfortable days in it. So, I bought this one for the second time around. It is so much more comfortable than the other, it supports the wrist and has a cushy neck piece. My problem was that no matter how much I shortened the neck strap, I could not get my elbow and back of my arm to rest. The pocket was just a bit too deep. My OT and PT always mentioned this and tried to get it to work. Even so, it was still so much better than what I used last year.
