My daughters love their new knifes!!! Sharp and pretty!

Nice knife for the price, blade is well-centered, opens & locks easily, and is very sharp. The scales are a relatively thick acrylic layer over a thin veneer of real abalone & is as colorful as what is pictured. It feels durable & the knife is a bit heavy; it's not something you'd carry in a pocket every day. I can't speak to the genuiness of the Damascus blade, as there seems to be no real agreement as to what that means these days. The blade appears to be two welded layers over a central core. The waved pattern is unique, but I cannot tell if it is truly folded steel layers or just a surface acid-etched treatment. I can say it is not just a printed or screened pattern, it does to some depth, at least, appear to exist in the steel itself. But if the steel is indeed VG-10, that means more than some cosmetic treatment. This is not a $500 custom piece, but it's certainly pretty and well-made. We'll see how well it keeps its edge and how easily it is sharpened in the future. I don't expect to use this as a heavy-duty, daily use knife, but it did just fine for kitchen prep tonight right out of the box. If you like knives, and pretty knives, and many pretty knives which you aren't concerned about using or losing or crying over the expense of, you can't go wrong here.

I bought this knife after receiving another Kuby knife a few months earlier. I was so impressed by the first knife , I decided to add this one to my collection and I'm equally pleased.

The blade and bolsters are both Damascus steel and the handle appears to be abalone with an acrylic top layer. The overall fit and finish is excellent. Blade centering is perfect and the lock bar engages at about 20%.

The back spacer is stainless steel with file work. All the hardware appears to be high quality, the thumb stud and pivot screw is covered with mother of pearl. The lanyard is leather with glass beads.

It includes a nice leather sheath, and if you're like me ( I hate bulky belt sheaths), you'll like this one , the sheath is very compact when worn on the belt. As stated in another review, I can't confirm if the sheath is in fact leather, but it's still a great sheath.
The knife doesn't have a pocket clip, but is small enough to carry in your jean's pocket.

There's not many knives out there in the market place at this price point and I think any knife lover would appreciate this one.
