I purchased one of these nightgowns a few years back, and it was lovely, but cut rather oddly, tight across the bust and shoulders. This, at the same size (and I am also approximately the same size as I was then, too), is perfect. Go figure. This nightgown is exquisite. It is made even more beautifully than the upscale brands that I generally pay twice as much for. People complained of the arms being too long, the shoulders too night, the gown itself too snug...and as I say, the size I ordered fits beautifully; perhaps the manufacturer realized an improved cut was necessary. I will sleep comfortably in this. I do have one complaint, and that is that it smells absolutely AWFUL; I suspect flame or wrinkle retardant, which I resent on a 100% cotton garment, but I'm hoping it will wash out fairly quickly, because now that I've seen it, I cannot part with it.

BUYER BEWARE: I liked this gown enough to order one in white, and it turned out to be a completely different garment. The sleeves were long enough to cover my hands, and the entire back hem was devoid of the trim that was all across the front. In other words, it is not the same garment, even though it is advertised as being the same. I assume someone somewhere in China either ran out of trim or was told to "cut corners."

I bought one of these gowns for myself and one for a friend. We both love them. I have another style gown from this company that is nice also, but this is the favorite. It is luxurious in a comfy cotton way and is quite well made with attention to detail. I absolutely love the fact that it has pockets! While I do not actually USE the pockets a whole lot, having the option to do so is gratifying, sometimes amusing, to one who has too often complained about women's clothing with no pockets! I hope this company stays around for a long time, as it will likely be hearing from me again.

You feel more beautiful and feminine just wearing this. It is so wonderful to wear something that reflects an old world quietness and civility in this impersonal computer age. I enjoy nature, a cup of hot tea, a good book by Austin, PBS, people who are kind, considerate and well mannered; and somehow wearing this after a long day in the office is like a balm for the mind and accesses and satisfies a part of my spirit that yearns for the refined and being feminine. I purchased 7 gowns and a robe and I am absolutely delighted with each one. I intend to purchase more.

My wife said she wanted a "Granny Clampett" night gown.
I remember the show, and I remembered her wearing a high-necked, buttoned-to-the-neck, lacy-collared cotton gown, with, maybe, some frills on the front. (Hmmmm. I may have been paying too much attention to her as a child of 10-ish, lol. Pervert, much?) OFF TO AMAZON!
After about 10 minutes of searching, refining and narrowing-down, I found the The 1 for U brand, and had a couple of options to choose from.
Let's see, now. Henrietta or Annabell? Annabell had a somewhat "Vee" neckline, and I'n looking for straight-up Victorian up-tightedness. Henrietta it is!
The price seemed a little high, but my Bride of 28 years is worth it! Order placed!
Once the gown arrived, and was opened and admired Christmas morning, The price is right in line with the quality. This is a well made gown. The material while solid, is almost, almost sheer, with out being see through, and once washed, will be soft as baby's skin. All-in-all, a beautiful gown.
This is such a good gown, that I'm going back for the Annabelle. Our Anniversary is at the end of the month! ;>)
