It looks good but let me tell you this... if you do not own a quality Allen wrench you're going to want to punch yourself in the face repeatedly while trying to use the garbage 2" one they provide with the hardware kit. It barely fit and the hex head on the bolt wasn't deep enough for the tool to properly sit in while you turned it. It literally slipped out every-single-time. I have a good Snap-On set and thank god for that because the Snap-On set fit in, bit and turned the bolts properly. My fingers still hurt today from trying to use that little 2" wrench for 5 minutes yesterday.

The unit looks sharp though... Mostly because of the color looking great in my basement...

The product itself is cheap. It's the locking cam/dowel/Allan bolt stuff you'd get from Ikea. The instructions say not to use any power tools to assemble it and that's for two reason...

#1 the "wood" is more of a veneer over press board so if you drilled a bolt in, the wood face wouldn't stop it... it would continue and dig right through the veneer.

#2... the hardware isn't exactly the best. It's made in china junk and even using the proper drill bit would result in almost immediately stripping out the head. So don't use power tools... just don't use their provided Allen wrench either :D

It stands fairly sturdy once put together. We followed the instructions to a "T" and we also applied some additional proper wood glue under the top as we completed the final step. Here is a picture of the final product.

Great piece, well packaged. Easy to put together. 2 hours. Used the dark wood one as a base for a painting project. Chalk painted, distressed and wallpapered the backings. Happy with result. Did two bookcases to match.

Beautiful color, sturdy and goes perfectly if you have limited space and want a "skinny" tv media center!

Putting together this stand is a serious project (70 inch), don't underestimate it but anyone can do it with some effort. It took me and my significant other somewhere between 3-4 hours to put this together with the included tools. I read in other reviews that there wasn't enough wood glue, but we didn't find that to be an issue (it was JUST enough). The size and build quality are great. I am very happy with this stand and I've already filled up the size included slots with various consoles and equipment.

Time-consuming assembly
Easy to mistake directions in included manual

If this will be your first piece of assembled furniture you will want an experienced assistant or skip it - the instructions are slightly wrong in step one & that carries through the whole manual.

Step 12 involves installing piece 6 - but the photo is completely wrong, if you put it on as the photo shows you will not get the top installed at the end.

These instructions are bad. The front of the booklet says to go to their website for newer instructions, but the website is OLDER than the booklet in the box.

We only gave it 3 stars because the end product is nice. Wife & I have assembled many pieces in our time & that saved us a lot of frustration.
