just received these today and they seem to be decent quality. as other reviewers have stated they do smell very bad upon opening. I have had them out in the sun in hopes that the smell would go away. after spending 5 hours in the hot sunlight they still smell badly.
Holding up better than anticipated

Was concerned about the quality and durability based on other reviews.
After a month of use for toys, and closet storage, these baskets are holding up great!
Purchased them on a lighting deal, and will be looking for them again!

Each container is well made, each is identical to the other (uniform and consistent manufacturing), each of the vertical sides has a reinforcing panel and a separate bottom plate (also fabric covered) to keep each container hold its shape. Nice fabric handle sewn onto the face for easy access.
Suitable for storing guest linens, bathroom supplies, light bulbs, extension cords, office supplies, camping accessories, etc. Probably not as suitable for storing anything heavy, such as reams of computer paper!
I found that 3 containers fit nicely on a standard 36" bookcase shelf, even one with a generous trim face. Recommended to use shelves with a smooth surface, but also works on wire shelving.
Nice to have an attractive and flexible storage solution vs plastic totes and boxes. If you have a cluttered closet shelf full of odds-n-ends, this may help save your sanity.
Con: I have yet to figure out how to label the contents of each container. Also easy to soil the fabric, so the application of some fabric protector may help (or, order containers in a dark color).

Bought these to set on the stairs so the kids could collect and transport whatever stuff accumulates downstairs back up to their rooms. These do the job nicely, sturdy enough, and just the right size. I don't think you want these for storing your weights or bowling balls, but for stray toys and shoes and electronics, they are awesome.
