Followed direction - no leaks. Used an inexpensive scotch and has been sitting for over a month and the taste is amazing. This is a small one which we prefer. Will probably buy another to use for bourbon.

Bought this for my 35 y/o boyfriend as a unique bday gift, he loved it!!! It's beautiful and looks fantastic on our counter. He cured it for about 8 days (the leaking stopped after about the first 24 hours which was way faster than we expected). The first batch of whiskey is aging in there now. No issues with leaks and it still looks fantastic after the curing. I will definitely make this purchase again - what a great gift!

I got this aging barrel for my husband for Christmas and he started using it right away. It did not leak at all. Just follow all of the directions for using the barrel and it will work well for you. We're going to wait a few months and let the whiskey age a bit before trying it out. So far, so good. And we love the engraving on the front of the barrel! My husband really thought that was a great idea - I put our wedding anniversary date for the "Established in" part. Very cool! Enjoyed the process and now to check out the finished product!

Purchased this after a friend recommended it. Having recently sampled his results, after aging a mid-shelf product, I was impressed. Instructions are simple to follow and seem to be the same as similar products out there. I didn't have much debris in my barrel to rinse out and had no leaks after filling with water to swell the wood. I only gave the barrel a 1 day soak due to the lack of leaking.
The quality of workmanship is such that it begs to be displayed for others to see. The engraving was nicely done and, for lack of better term, adds a touch of class to the display. I may go over a bit of it to simply darken some spots that the natural grain of the wood seemed to make a bit lighter.

Pros:
- Workmanship / product quality
- Ease of use / instructions
- Provided everything needed. Including 2x funnels (See Additional below), and a cleaning tab if you chose to switch spirit types between aging.

Cons:
- Waiting for the finished product. Most online sources state that a 2L barrel gives the equivalent aging of 1 year per 2-4 weeks. My Intent will be for 10-12 months... so hopefully 10-20yr 'aging'. But I am not always a patient man so we will see.

Additional notes:
- Product included 2x paper funnels to fill the barrel. While these were sufficient to fill this 2L barrel, they are paper and I burned through both of them filling the barrel with the 2nd starting to collapse about 1/2 way into the 2nd Litre. If you have a small necked plastic funnel I'd recommend using it. (Note: I was pretty slow and deliberate in pouring the bottles into the barrel... If you are quicker you may not have the same 'paper collapse I did)
- The Bung & Bung Hole: I crimped/squished the 'gasket' up around the bung the 1st time I inserted it. Not sure how i would have avoided this as it is designed to fit tightly and the material is malleable. HOWEVER, it is not leaking around the bung when I rotate the barrel so I am not sure it is even an issue. (Note: Again... this may have been an error on my part. but looking back not sure how I could have avoided it.)

Really looking forward to the end product and will more than likely order a few 1L barrels to use in the interim.

This is my first time trying out a small batch to age whisky. I have not tried the spirits yet, as it is still needs to sit a while. I have a bottle the exact same whisky that I am not aging to compare.
I was so impressed with the 1 liter so much, I went ahead a purchased a 2 liter for aging a 12 year old single malt I normally enjoy.
It did only take about 3 days to cure barrel and stop any leaks, I left it cure an additional 2 days before filling. I am excited to try this with some good friends.
