Comfortable breatheable car seat pad for summer

I like bead-seats for their breathability in hot weather. This would be especially useful in a car with dark colored leather seats! I'm, er, well enough padded to not mind sitting on the beads. My wife finds them too rough and my 4-star rating for comfort reflects this.
One thing this bead-seat is missing is a cloth cover on its underside to catch the dust, cookie crumbs, crumbled leaves, and wood bits that inevitably fall through and leave a mess underneath on the car's own seat cover. I've had this one for two summers with no broken strings or beads yet.

They look great in my little car. You have to make your own system for tying them securely to your seats. The small strings that come with it are useless.

There is no denying the comfort of these old school style beaded seat covers... I have had these in all my VW Vans and love them. This one was purchased because the leather driver seat in my 2011 Audi Q5 is showing some wear. And it definitely adds a little "Hippy Style" to what otherwise is a popular upper middle class ride for sure. I guess I've reached Yuppie Status now...
This one is a little strange because it only attaches at the head rest. I doesn't seem like enough but it does work. It would be easy enough add a couple ties I suppose but I have yet to do it.
Dirt, food, dust, and mostly sand for me does fall between the beads.. So you'll want to keep it cleaned. That may be the reason for the "headrest attachment only" design. I'm a little concerned it may not protect as well as a real seat cover. In fact it might even cause just as much wear as no cover? But I'll keep it for now for the coolness factor...
