Should have been much better for that much money

This is only an okay product and maybe three stars is one star too many. I expected much more, and much better, for the price I paid (almost $44). It's not substantial, but rather flimsy. It arrived in two hemispheres, separated at the equator (and if you think the line marking the equator looks especially big and thick, it is -- even to the point of obscuring some names of places on the globe). It was off its "axis", probably due to astonishingly poor packaging. There was no "protection" inside the box for the globe -- no air-filled plastic-pillows, no cushioning bubble-wrap, not even intact supportive cardboard. But I need it now for a presentation, so I don't plan to return it, but maybe to glue it back together -- which I certainly should not have to do! For $43.99 there's got to be a better product out there than this one. I had high hopes...
Great learning tool for children

I bought this as a gift for my children prior to a deployment so they can better understand where I'll be. Turns out to be a great present as my 3 and 6 year old are constantly exploring it. It is sturdy, however I will not let my kids use it unsupervised because I'm sure it can be broken if dropped.

I'm sorry to say this globe is not worth the money.
The stand is cheap plastic and so is the bar that holds the globe on. You can't move the globe all around, only horizontally. I returned this and bought the Advantus 12" Desk top world Globe. Great Globe!

This is a nice globe. However, the states are NOT different colors as some reviews have stated. The states are outlined and there are lots of cities marked. It does work well for students. It would have been much better with the states different colors beside each other. Each country is a dfferent color to differentiate the countries. I would have ordered a different globe if I had known, but this one will work.
Lesson learned, item returned.

I bought this after reading reviews of almost every other globe offered. Very excited to order and very disappointed when it arrived.
The globe itself seemed "okay" - the longitude lines did not match up except nearly so around China.
The biggest problem - and the deal breaker for me - is the flimsy, fixed stand. Cheap plastic, and fixed to the cheap plastic base so if you want to look at the poles you have to pick the whole thing up.
Additionally, I guess I had expected more map detail..
If this item was $25.00 I might have considered keeping it (maybe) but as is, it is way overpriced.
Lesson learned: for this item, go to a land-based shop!
