I recently purchased the Ectaco itravl 2 ltr/glx 31. It is pretty amazing that it translates languages in real time. However you do not get 31 languages in speech to speech translation. I think I have 17 without an internet connection. The others are speech to text. That's not exactly specified in this ad.
If you purchase a 3G or 4G service you would then have the other languages speech to speech. I guess a wifi connection would also accommodate this as well. I just think, regardless of the ad's deficiencies, you should know what it is you are getting. Having said that, I fully intend to keep the device even though I believed I had speech to speech in 31 languages. I have emailed back and forth with their customer service as well as spoken with tech support at Ectaco. I must say I give them both 5 stars. So the just of it is I now speak 17 languages instead of 31. Yesterday, I spoke only one. It's still rather cool.

Absolutely love this product....only issue is I can't get Sims card in...

I bought this wonderful product for a few days now. This is comparable to my apple iPhone 6 plus with the big advantage of 31 language dictionary. Congratulation to Ectaco adding smart phone to the language encyclopedia, bingo.This is my primary observations:
A few things prevent me to put 5 star for itravel2 smartphone:
PHYSICAL:
1. This phone is roughly twice the weight and twice the thickness of iPhone 6 plus which is understandable and justified considering its shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof qualities.
2. The Itravel 2 is 1/2 inch taller and 1/2 inch wider than iPhone 6 plus. This real state unfortunately is wasted as the screen of i travel2 is not edge to edge. Without increasing the size of the itravel2, this 1/2 inch should be used to make the screen EDGE TO EDGE and increase the screen size FROM 5 1/2 INCH TO 6 INCH, an obvious advantage over iphone 6. May be in ITRAEL3: I am looking forward to buy it and give mine to my wife!
3. The SIM card section is not as precise and as easy to deal with as the case is with my iPhone 6 plus. It moves when you want to install the SIM card. I am looking for a more precise engagement and easier to install SIM card slot in ITRAVEL3.

BEUTY: Apple products are simple, beautiful and eye pleasing, very high quality too. Itravel2 is a rugged, waterproof, shockproof, dustproof product. Apple has yet to come with iPhone7 to match these qualities. There is a lot of room for increasing the beauty of travel2. An easy one is a choice of white front screen edge for people like myself admiring iPhone 6 plus white face. A choice of different colors is another obvious advantage.

ACCESSORIES are scarce and there are not much options.
1. Screen protector provided for itravel2 is not good. A GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR is the norm now and should be offered along with a better quality non-layering plastic!
2. There is no case available to protect front screen. So if you use your phone at home and want to put it down on the table you have no protection for the screen if an object falls on it (and you cannot use the holster for this purpose all the time). I have a TOTUDESIGN BOOKSTYLE case for my iPhone 6 plus that is thin, light and extremely handy and beautiful. The same can be provided for ITRAVEL3!
3. The holster provided is ugly, bulky and has cheap Velcro closure. It should be MAGNETIC IN ITRAVEL3. I hope there are many options become available for accessories

CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer service and tech support needs a big jump. It is hard to get that and comparing to any companies that I use their product, Ectaco service falls very short and can be given 2 star only.
Hard to get the service and limited time 11-5 as well.
CONCLUSION
I hope this review helps Ectaco to bring ITRAVEL3 to market as fast as possible with EDGE TO EDGE 6 INCH SCREEN. CAN'T wait to buy it again.

I bought the Ectaco itravl 2 with the Russian/English package. Ectaco is pretty good about communicating but not with lightning speed. The One Sim Card business that supplies the sim card and European phone number is very good in its customer communication. I put in the sim card provided and set up a state side number and account. It operates like a prepaid cell phone, and you can have multiple numbers. Thank God I did this before I went to Ukraine. I get Ukrainian money from atms when I am there. Someone tried to access my checking account from Taiwan the day I got to Ukraine so my account was blocked. I found this out when I called my bank (on my itravl 2 of course). So new debit/bank card issued but sent to address of record in USA. Now I borrow money from credit card and credit card gets blocked, again, call credit card company (easy to do on itravl 2) and get credit card unblocked. So the itravl 2 saved my bacon on this trip to Ukraine. I use it occasionally in USA for phone calling and when in places with Wi-Fi (such as trip to Canada last week) I use it like anyone would to check e-mail and all that. I have used the Russian/English translation capability and it gives instant voice and text translation as well as text transliteration in both languages so I am impressed with what it does. I am an over 60 late adopter who has never had a 'hand held device' before and find the itravl 2 to fill the need I have for a phone/translation device when traveling. When in Ukraine, my itravl 2 rang a couple times but the (Ukrainian) caller had a connection problem so while I called the USA with it, I did not carry on a conversation with another European phone but I have no doubt it works. Also, the itravl 2 is a little different than other smart phones in the way it calls back and you touch the complete call icon or something like that (sorry, forgot exactly what it does) but it is not much different than any other phone. I like it, I am glad I bought it. I bought this after buying a competing product (cheaper) which I never was able to set up an account with and the only person who I could ever exchange e-mails with or talk to was the person who sold it to me, so the (Vasco) piece of junk sits here on a shelf, maybe I'll take it to the Salvation Army this spring.
