These are quite bright for such a small size. A star was docked for the inability to disable the cycling through different modes. If you turn it on and off a couple times, the next cycle is the seizure inducing flash mode. There is not selector switch for which mode you want, it automatically cycles through them. It's a bit annoying, and I wish it just had the one mode. We don't necessarily need the slightly dimmer mode, or the flashy mode. We buy a bright flashlight for just that reason! Just because you CAN make different features, doesn't make them useful.

They all worked out of the box, good brightness, will try lithium battery to get stronger output but regular aa has good output but it probably isn't 300 lumen. The square beam when zoomed due to the cree led drives me nuts but they are backups so i can live with it. I still use surefire or streamlight when my life depends on it but these are definitely worth having around for light duty, who knows maybe they would hold up good to a torture test NUTNFANCY you should do a video.

Bought 5 and then immediately ordered 5 more, all red so easier to spot. Now we keep one in car and truck; in a kitchen drawer so we can see in the lower cabinets; in garage to check oil in lawn mower & ATV; in night stand on both side of the bed in case of power outages; with the generator (we do have power outages in the woods); in bathroom to read fine print (lawyers) on medicine containers; near computers in order to identify switches/buttons/cd rom/usb on side of laptops; ammo box; toolbox and any other place we need additional lighting. Already had a number of LED flashlights but at $3.44 each delivered to your door you can never have too many. And batteries last forever.

I was eager to try these out since they had decent reviews and a low price. Unfortunately, when I put newly charged 14500 batteries in them as recommended and tested each one out, within 5 minutes 3 of them had gone bad, with all of the 3 functions still working but the light from the LED chip barely discernible. Sometimes they would suddenly flash bright but go out again right away, maybe bad solder joints on the LED chip. The other 2 seemed to work fine, but I figured it was just a matter time until they went bad too, so I returned them all. Another issue was that the spring clip closes against a sharp ring edge which catches on pocket seams and makes it really hard to pull out. I bought the set of 4 BYB flashlights when they came up as a lightning deal on Prime instead and they're much better IMO.
[Update 10-23-17: Mikafen was gracious enough to supply me with a new set of flashlights and all 5 appear to be working well, so I may have encountered a bad batch. When I compared the light produced against that of the BYB units it was actually a little warmer and brighter which I liked. Unfortunately, while examining how the units were assembled I discovered another issue - the inner sliding surface of the focusing ring has two vertical slots cut in it that allow water to pass directly into the LED circuitry and rendering the two O-rings pretty useless. I'm not sure why the slots would be there except to possibly relieve internal air pressure changes as the focusing ring is moved. Anyway, the lights work OK and have a nice warm bright light but are not waterproof.]

I had bad luck on the first order but Mikafen was great and solved the issue. These flash lights are great i use AA batteries in them and they work great. I love how they zoom in and out they are like a mini spotlight and shine pretty far. They shipped on time and the packaging was great. They really seem reliable I use one every day at work and i love it. Some lights in my first order didnt work but they replaced them and they all work great no problems at all i really think it was bad luck my first order because i havent had a problem out of these lights and honestly dont think i will. i will update this review if i have any problems.
