I'd seen this pop up on Instagram and had been intrigued to try it out. Once I saw it on Amazon, I figured I'd take the risk. I've been investing in $10 belts from Ross over the years, but have always disliked the bulkiness in the reversible trend in the cheap belt world.

I've lost quite a bit of weight and am still surprised that I'm in a 34-36 waist in pants or jeans. I'd been at a solid 40 for the past year or so. In order to get a belt that fit, I'd be looking at at 42 or 44 to give me some extra fat-boy love. after a big meal. I decided to get the Grip6 40", as I still think someone is pranking me with my waist size...I should've gone with no more than a 36". I have quite a bit of extra and will probably trim it down, but am always nervous about damaging the integrity of the product.

It comes in a cool, simple brown box with the instructions printed on the outside. This is a good thing, as I wasn't initially sure how to actually fasten the belt. I got the black belt/black buckle combo, as this seemed the most universal one. The buckle was much thinner than I'd anticipated, but that is also the appeal. It is a very solid piece and didn't give in as I attempted to bend it. The belt is actual much sleeker than it appears in pictures. I basically expected a mesh belt like you get with cargo shorts from Target, only able to wear it with a casual outfit. I will actually test it with dress pants to see if I could pull it off.

Functionality: Once figuring out the proper way to thread the belt, I released it with little to no expectations that it would work. It seems like it should just immediately loosen and provide no support. It held. It's been holding for two days and I haven't had to tighten at all, except when actually removing it. I haven't mastered cinching it up, so that process is a little clunky. It is extremely light and is hardly noticeable. I feel totally secured without that obvious leather strap around my waist.

Two days in and I'm a fan. I'll update later after using it for a few months.

This belt meets all expectations! I am very happy with this purchase! But, it didn't start out that way. I received my new Grip 6 belt with high expectations. I wore the belt for several days and it just wouldn't hold. I kept having to retighten and retighten it. I had pretty well given up on it after the first week. About a week later I received an email from Grip6 customer service asking how I was enjoying my new belt and if I had any questions. First of all, that is brilliant customer service! ðŸ‘🼠Thank you! I then explained my problem with the belt to the rep and he replied with a polite response and offered an illustration of how to properly cinch the belt. I figured I might as well look it over. I am a smart guy who usually reads directions but, this is a belt. How hard could it be to figure out? It wasn't hard at all! I was just doing it wrong! Lol! After following the illustration I realized I wasn't threading it correctly. Problem solved!

It's been a few months since and I wear the belt nearly every day. It works great! It's thin, light weight, holds tight and looks good doing it! Everything I need and nothing I don't. It may seem a little silly but, I enjoy putting it on every morning. Each morning I am reminded of what a great purchase it was. It's the little things. I am also reminded of the value of reading directions. Haha! Great work Grip6 team! I am a customer 4 life!

I just want to add that I went swimming in salt water with my Grip6 belt on for the first time the other day. I was worried that might cause an issue with it somehow but, I just rinsed it in the shower when I got home and it hasn't missed a beat. It dried over night no problem and still looks and works great!

Most belts are adjusted from the outside of the belt by pulling the end to either the right hole, or if using friction or a clasp, but pulling to the right tightness around the waist and clamping the buckle and belt in place. This belt has the end fed through the slit behind the buckle, feeding the end of the belt behind the belt through the belt loop. As such, adjusting the belt after you've walked awhile, or ridden in the car and get out and need to adjust the belt, is not easy. The friction is from the belt through the slit behind the buckle, so to adjust higher or more loose you have to pull the buckle away from your body with one hand while moving the belt in an angular fashion feeding more in or pulling some out in order to adjust. To anyone watching it may look like you're wrestling something around your waist - it isn't graceful to adjust after you first pull on your pants and set the belt. Light weight for sure, no moving parts, just not easy to adjust - my guess is the more you suffer from dunlop disease - your belly dun lopped over your belt - the more difficult it would be to adjust. Flat stomach means more easily pulled away from the body to get that slack to adjust it. Bigger stomach...not so easy. Simple concept, works well, just not easy to adjust after the initial set.

This is my second Grip6 belt after ordering the Business Time belt a month ago, which has become my daily work belt. However, upon receiving the Tiger's eye belt it looks nothing like the picture that is a Khaki color than Dark Brown. I would suggest they change the photo, since it more like a chocolate brown versus a tan, which is what I was actually looking for to wear to work. It is still a good belt, but just be careful that the picture does not accurately show the right color hue of an orangey tan when its way darker.

This is the second one I've purchased, the first being a red buckle model direct from the company.

The fit, finish and durability of both components is excellent. There's been no stretching of the belt component and no loss of tension at the buckle.

My particular carry kit includes the weight of a holstered Springfield Armory XD-40, a medium sized pouch holding 2 additional loaded 12-round magazines, pen, small flashlight, folding knife, phone charger and several challenge coins. All this additional weight is handled without any issue.

All components sit in the evening where set in the morning. No slipping. No stretching. No fraying of the belt. No movement of the buckle.

The only reason I bought a second was to have the fantastic matte black finish available in addition to the anodized red; it's not necessary to give the original belt any break from daily wear and tear.

As this company develops new designs and interesting special editions, I'll be buying more. But I won't need to buy any for replacement due to product failure. This brand and its products are the definition of tough.
