Warm, but not packable
GB_In_Texas✓ Verified Purchase•October 11, 2018
Excellent jacket for those cold days. The only drawback is that its not packable, meaning it can not be packed away as a small pillow sized piece of gear. It is good for everyday fall / winter use, but not practical for hiking. It is comfortable and does have a drawstring around the hem, to trap the air / prevent heat from escaping.

if you are in need of a everyday jacket, for school / work / commute for cold weather, this is a good jacket. But for any outdoors / packable / travel jacket, I would not recommend it.
Lightweight, warm, feathery

Fits well. Little tight around the shoulders, but I don't mind a down jacket being more snug than loose.

Pros: Warm enough on it's own for 30-40F with light wind. Light weight.
Con: Feathers more than I'd expect from a down jacket in this price range.
Observation: The inside of this jacket is like a mirror - it looks odd and loud, but it has utility.
One Flaw, Otherwise Very Good

This jacket has a lot going for it. It's lightweight, fits reasonably well (but see below), and provides a good measure of warmth. Keep in mind that this is a *midweight* jacket, not an Arctic parka. During winter you'll need an under layer (sweater, fleece, sweatshirt) to be comfortable -- a short sleeve T-shirt by itself won't suffice. I wore this jacket for several days in mid-January at Niagara Falls, Canada (temps 20 to 35 F and windy). At times I wished for a more effective head covering, but not once did I wish I'd brought a heavier coat.

Nice touches -
* A drawstring at the hem to seal out drafts.
* Fleece lining in the handwarmer pockets (but zip these up when you're not using them or you'll wonder why your torso is suddenly colder).
* The chest pocket is large enough to hold my Galaxy Note 8 with no problem. Access is from the inside of the jacket, meaning you'll have to unzip the main zipper to reach your phone.

Minor con -
There is no stowaway pocket, meaning it can't fold into itself. But I was able to compress it into a 6x8x2 inch packing cube with no problem

Con -
A major drawback is the neck opening: it's way too large and lets in too much cold, windy air. It needs to be at least 2 inches narrower in circumference. A scarf or bandana around the neck is almost a requirement to block the opening. Maybe the hooded version doesn't have this issue.
Excellent

Great product, better that more expensive, bulky coats. Will definitely buy again... kept me warm at 11F with no problems.
Warm, thick, but a bit boxy

Comes out a little boxy compared to maybe some other jackets in the market. The feathers do tend to poke out a bit, which can be a bit frustrating. The thermal lining is nice though and adds a layer of warmth to the kacket. I'd size down as again this is a pretty boxy cut for the jacket.
