Buyer beware/Cheap knock-off

I bought this so-called "Griffin" drum throne. As you can see in the pictures, it's so poorly made, the slots do not align with the bolt, making it impossible to adjust the seat height. Not only did I get charged return shipping and a restocking fee, I received this message from the seller when I complained: "...your product is noted by our inspector that there is nothing wrong with the product." I sent them these same pictures as proof and got no response. If you buy a "Griffin" product from this manufacturer, buy at your own risk.
Quality is way beyond what you pay for.

I read other reviews about how to make this remote hihat mlm quicker and more responsive. I was totally prepared to have to do the same, I tried it out of the box and for my playing style it was more than adequate. Heavy duty design, and a price that is way below competition. This remote hihat system is beyond worth its value. Everything about it great. I cant praise this company enough for the quality of product they put out.
Cheaper in price than the more well-known brands, but good quality!

Got it delivered a few hours ago and looked it over. It was set a little tight, but I quickly figured out that if you adjust the two screwed in portions at the bottom, you can set the tension down to a pretty loose point, giving you quicker action. Once I got that set right, I set it up as the secondary hi-hat on my kit. This remote hi-hat is a little taller than I expected, but once the rack for my kit gets delivered, it'll fit right in where I want it to go. Right now it's set a little low on a small stand, so the cymbals are about two inches above a floor tom. I'll be able to raise it up when I get my rack.

This thing is heavy duty, and the action isn't bad at all once you get it set right. Again, you can adjust it to tight or loose tension by turning the two screwed in sections on the bottom. The tension can also be adjusted with a little bit of fiddling around with the tension knob.

I may be getting a second one soon, to replace my main hi-hat. Less stands equals more floor space.
Great stand for the money!!

I was a little apprehensive after finding this for so cheap when all the other manufacturers are charging at least double what I paid for this. That being said it's not bad at all! As another reviewer said, it is very robust and can handle even the hardest playing. There is a little lag and lack of sensitivity, hence the four stars, however you can adjust the tension on the pedal so that does help make it a little more subjective. Granted I do not own one of the other brands but speaking from experience, for the money this is a great setup! I included pics of how I set mine up. I did buy a Gibraltar angle clamp with it and attached it to my right hand crash stand, and it sits just over my last rack tom. Totally eliminated crossover and I can now leave one open and one closed, and all my pedals are together on the left hand side. I have a double bass pedal as well so I now have four pedals, but no problem differentiating between or hitting more than one when I need it. Only been a day but I really like this stand, and for just over $100, it's freaking awesome!!
Great product for the price, but takes a little work.

I'll start off by saying I love this pedal. It's sturdy, responsive, and easily mounted. For the price, it's hard to beat.

That said, I had to do some work on it. On the recommendation of a few others around the internet, I disassembled most of the thing and spent an hour piping a pretty significant amount of WD-40 down the inside of the cable tubing. Spray a little, wiggle the cable to move it down, and repeat. I had the cable clamped up to a rafter in my garage hanging down to help gravity spread the lube. When I noticed a little on the other end of the cable, I called it good and reassembled it, I also folded a little bit of the chain over at the back end of the pedal and then re-tightened the metal tab down onto the folded chain (so it was holding two layers of chain instead of one, the screw being much farther unscrewed than before) in order to help the pedal rest higher (it sits pretty low and isn't really "adjustable").

With the pedal height and lube problems sorted out, this pedal has been a dream since I bought it over a month ago. I'm considering buying another. Highly recommended, but I wish they shipped better lubricated with an adjustable chain. It wasn't really playable how I received it.
