A Beautiful Instrument + Pretty Colors That Creates Dual Sounds! It's Like Buying A Shaker And A Tone Block Instrument In One!
Jestifex•July 3, 2016
1. How Does It Look?
I really love the colors of the balls on this instrument. I also appreciate that the product can be played with 2 totally different sounds. You have the traditional shaker sounds with the little beads in the colored balls, which sound similar to maracas and then you have the little rings in the middle that give you a more percussive knocking sound. This is also one of the cleanest artwork pieces I've seen on an instrument from World Percussion USA and I'm quite impressed with that! "1.00 STARS!"
2. Does It Work?
The dual purpose design gives the sounds a lot of variety. The shakers sound quite trebly and a bit tinny/weak, while the rings give you a thicker, fuller, bassy knock. The knock sounds pretty legit, while I'm not overly impressed with the shaker sound, although I still really like it. "0.75 STARS!"
3. How Easy Is It To Use?
I really find that it is quite simple to use. You can shake the paddle back and forth one way to hear only the shakers or you can shake the paddle sideways to hear both the shakers and the knocking sounds. However, you cannot play just the knocking sound. "1.00 STARS!"
4. How Does It Feel?
Overall the paddle feels a bit cheap to be honest and much cheaper than the rest of the instruments that I have tried from World Percussion USA. However, just because it feels cheaper doesn't mean that it doesn't feel solid in of itself, because it does, it just doesn't feel "AS" solid as the rest of those instruments from World Percussion USA, like their maracas, caxixis or their mini djembe drum. The awesome variety of sounds really makes up for the cheaper build quality in my opinion. "0.75 STARS!"
5. Is It Worth The Price?
Yes! I think so, especially considering that the instrument is like buying 2 high quality sounding instruments in one and you can't go wrong with that! "1.00 STARS!"
6. Should You Buy This?
I say give them a try! If you're looking for a pretty looking instrument that is unique from many others on the market and you want a dual purpose sounding instrument then you will be pleased with this instrument.
7. What's My Rating?
I rate this product a 4.50 out of 5.00 stars and have to round up to 5.00 stars for Amazon's review system.

Great for baby to learn music
mila mckinnon•July 2, 2016
I am collecting various music instruments for my baby boy to play with. I am happy that I purchased this hand painted sliders. It is arrived faster than I thought, it was well packed. The music instrument is made of wood, it is light, but don't underestimate it's endurance, although it is light, it is pretty sturdy and not easy to get break. The rattle balls are made of plastics, they are bright and colorful, great to stimulate my baby's vision. The middle part is the slider rattles, that is made of wood, in which the edges are well polished therefore no sharp edges, good for my baby boy to play. The rattle produces clear and crispy sounds, but not too loud that it is annoying, just enough for us to hear. When my baby shake it, he has a great time to play with it. I love this rattle

Love the bright colors, and it is definitely loud!
M. L.•June 29, 2016
I bought this to be used under supervision with my one year old nephew. It will also be used by adults when his parents have musicians and DJ's visit their home.
The rattle balls are attached to the wood panel with glue. While they appear to be firmly and solidly glued on, I plan to add a bit more as there are a few balls that appear to have a bit more glue than others. This is nothing I would knock a star off over...this is a persona preference as I feel a little bit extra care will help this last much longer in the hands of a supervised one year old.
This is loud when moving it from front to back, exponentially more so when shaking it from side to side. I think this will be a great instrument to help teach my nephew about rhythm, and that the musicians that visit his parents will also get a kick out of this as well.
I received this at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased opinion. I love the bright colors, it's cute, and I think makes an excellent addition to any novice percussionists play chest.
