Okay, this might sound silly, but I purchased the shade to protect an outside low-voltage transformer for landscape lighting. The transformer was installed under an area that gets rain water dripping from the house roof. Moving the the transformer was not an option. The rain shade fit perfect and not only protects the transformer, but also helps to disguise it from being just a black box. With a little ingenuity, I installed the photo-light sensor on the side of the shade. I painted the shade to match the house color. Also, it survived Hurricane Irma here in Southwest Florida. It is very sturdy and well constructed. I'm very happy that I was able to find something that met my needs.

This rain shade is used for my Ring doorbell auxiliary camera. It is water resistant, but I thought this would help protect it. We had the outer fringes of hurricane Harvey come through Austin this past weekend with no apparent harmful effects to the camera. I only wish it were available in other colors besides white since it does stand out. But maybe that's a good thing.

Well made - seems to be decent quality plastic, not flimsy. Has black paint on inside and a rubber gasket where it attaches to wall. Comes with screws, plastic screw anchors and mounting template. Smaller than expected, which was a good thing as I was concerned it may be too big. I forgot to take measurements, but it fits over my Reolink RLC410 well without being humongous as shown in photo (rust spots from an old Foscam 640x480 camera's mount.. )
