Excellent product when used within its design parameters

This worked very well for my application. My range is about 8 feet, and the fixture and surrounding area do not block the detector, and it works as described with this setup. Please understand what this is... If you have a shade or other cover, or something else blocking line of sight to the E26 light bulb socket, this is not the product for you, as the sensor needs to be able to "see" the motion. There are other products with detachable motion sensors (a bit more expensive) that should be considered if line-of-sight to this unit's sensor will be blocked, or if the distance is too great.
Worked great for 20 months, then failed. Mfr's warranty is good for 1 year, only.

This Westek OMLC3BC-4 motion activated switch was great while it worked, installed in our bedroom closet controlling a 100W incandescent bulb, but it stopped working after 20 months. One day, I walked into the closet and heard a pop, and that was it. The bulb burned out at the same time, which seemed odd. The manufacturer's limited warranty is for 1 year only, so it cost me twenty dollars or one dollar a month for the pleasure of not using a light switch every time I enter our closet.
Oh, and I also bought the First Alert PIR725 motion switch, too. That one failed even sooner, so don't bother with either one.

Motion sensor has limited swivel ability.

It looks like it's a decent quality item, but unfortunately the light fixture on my garage hangs down vertically under the eaves, and this motion sensor does not swivel up & down much at all, only side to side. So it would pretty much point straight down at the ground, which is not good.
I found a similar one at Home Depot that swirled vertically but the quality doesn't seem that good.

Mixed Pros & Cons; Seem Guaranteed to Die After 1-Year Warranty Expires

I bought two of these to install over dog-door & dog yard areas to come on when the dogs go outside after dark. The first dog door goes from the laundry room to an enclosed attached rear storage room, which has two lights on one switch (one at either end of the room), so I had to purchase another device for that room's 2nd light socket. The dogs can't access that end of the room so it doesn't come on with their frequent traffic, only when I enter the seldom used storage room through a human door. The first device to die was the one that got the most use by the dogs, and it died 2 months after the 1-year warranty expired. The second dog-area light should be next to go, as I installed it over the back yard patio 2-3 months after I'd installed the first one over the storage room's dog door. I have high hopes that the 3rd device over the human door in the rear storage room might last 2 years or more if amount of use is related to life of device. But based on other reviews that may be wishful thinking.
I REALLY like these since they are easy to install, and can be turned to detect motion from just about angle and any height depending on whether you want low animal detection or higher human detection. I have mixed feelings about the lights staying on for 10 minutes after the last detected motion: The back yard patio light can be seen by two of my neighbors, and we all treasure our mountain community isolation and lack of intrusion on our peaceful homes by neighbors. But it's nice that the dogs have 10 minutes of light to find their way back to the patio/outer dog door area. Yet those 10 minute periods of lighting an area with no activity add up and burn out the halogen outdoor spotlights faster, so I think 5 minutes would be better. The ideal solution is to install a time adjustment dial for how long it stays on after last detection, even if it only gives 2-3 choices in 5-minute increments.

WONDERFUL DEVICE

Works great, and very handy for increased safety on dark nights. I've only used it a few weeks, but so-far-so-good. I'll update this post if it doesn't have a good lifespan.
It's easy to screw in, (I'm using it on the corner of the house, with a standard 75-watt floodlight-bulb screwed into it). It illuminates whenever someone walks near it, and remains on for 10 minutes, and then auto shuts-off. Perfect for our needs. I have it under the eave of the house where it's mostly protected from rain, (I don't think it's completely waterproof, so you may not want to use it where it's directly-exposed to full rainfall).
