A simple yet affordable way to add smoke to anything.

This is a great but simple way to add smoke to your cook. I bought this Vortex smoker specifically for my electric Masterbilt smoker...what a difference it has made. One point is that you'll gain about 10° in temp with the electric smoker do keep an eye on it and adjust accordingly. I actually get a more intense smoke flavor that I wasn't able to get before. With a little experimenting, I've been able to get it tuned for the right amount of time I need to add smoke to my cook. I use a hand held propane torch to light it...that's, in my opinion, a necessity to get the pellets lit correctly. Took me a couple of relights to figure that out. I also learned to flip it over and use the smaller trough for shorter smoke times and... there's no need to fill it full of pellets if you're only looking for a short smoke. I did cold smoke some cheddar cheese and the smoke flavor was infused very well. My problem, I really can't cold smoke anything until fall through spring as I live in the torrid heat region of the San Joaquin Valley in California. I liked the Vortex® Cold Smoker so much that I bought one for my nephew who not only 'ques pretty good but likes to brew his own beer. This will allow him to experiment and add some smoke to his grains not to mention a host of other things that only improve with smoke.

As everything from Smoke Daddy Inc. it works as advertised and is all that they say it is....
fill the big ring and you can get up to 10 hours of smoke.... fill the flip side you get about 2-4 hours....

This is built much more rugged than I expected. It has served me very well. It has two time features on it.
