It is about as good as i expected - it isnt a Sony. Why Sony didnt sue them over this, because it is useful as plastic & sand.

It is about as good as i expected - it isnt sony, but it also isnt sony. The product only has standard input, no HD.
::EDIT::
This product is garbage. Just complete and total garbage. I can not even think of a good reason that this product would be released.
1. This product has no way to capture high resolution input.
2. Even if it did have High resolution input, when set to HQ mode, this device can only record for 32 minutes.
3. It does not appear this writer is capable of writing more than 1GB at a time. Why?
4. It does not burn 'on-the-fly' it seems to capture to memory, then writes to disc.
5. Incredibly slow burn, this thing is so under powered in every way, from the reactiveness of the UI, to the actual response time between functions, burning, playing, navigating.
6. The encoder, the actual capturing and encoding clarity, is just un-usable. I feel like I am watching CD-Videos from my Sega Genisis in 1990 with ASCII art.
So, after running it through the ringers, and I did: Recorded video in, watch video out on hdmi, played media from USB, SD-card, and DVD, I have concluded they took a great idea and just botched it in every way. Fix your firmware. Give the device some processing capacity for encoding and read/write. Perhaps provide a way to configure via a external host? I wanted this product to work, but it doesnt. The only use I can really imagine for it, capturing old VHS and encoding them to SD card, but even then, just go buy a nice home/consumer one.
I am returning this product.
