k
works fine if you use their library
JazzerInTheMaking•June 4, 2017
When the proper libraries are installed, the unit works fine, but it's important to be aware that while the lcd is a standard 1602 unit, the i2C backpack doesn't work with the standard LiquidCrystal_I2C library. You need to use ArduCam's version (which also works with other manufacturer's i2C backpacks!) The library doesn't appear to be available online, but Arducam customer support (who are quite responsive and helpful) sent me the library and I've asked them to put a copy up on Github. In addition, when creating a LiquidCrystal instance, the ArduCam unit uses a different data address (0x3F) than that used for most other backpacks (0x27)
Good product for my application and development.

This is a good product. It does not come soldered, which is convenient for me. I put a female 0.1"-pitch header on the back of the 1602, so that I can have a solid connection and also remove the I2C interface board.
I develop with PIC, but the arduino libraries are nice examples to get basic usage understanding.
Also, address 0x3f.

This is what it is. Super simple and easy to use. It'll printout the text that you want it to with an easy I2C command print.

The i2c address is ox3F. Confirmed works well with Adafruit Trinket Pro 5 volt. Came with decent printed documentation with link to Arduino library.
