Easy to install and they look great. These really put the finishing touch on our home's decorative shutters. You cannot tell that they are vinyl (plastic) unless you are doing an up close inspection. The vinyl seems very tough and is weather resistant as well... these won't rust or fade. Considering that working hinges and shutter dogs made of metal would have cost more than $100, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.

Looks so real my wife started yelling at me for buying expensive iron hinges for the shutters I made. Nice lip around edge of shutter, not just a flat hinge, for even more authentic look.

At our last house, we had the nice $$$ shutter dogs on our craftsman shutters and they rusted right through. These look plastic upon close inspection, but from several feet away look fantastic! Love how the straps have a piece that wraps around the side of the shutter. Didn't like how the S hooks didn't have a disguised place to put screw, but hubby put the screw up through the bottom of the guide piece on the bottom. Now you don't see the extra screw from the front and it holds just fine. Would totally recommend.

For the price, these are great! They are plastic FYI, what did you expect for $14? I spray painted them a hammered brown which makes them look more shiny and "almost" metal =) I did not use the S hook on my shutters, because I just wanted the hinges!
