Nice helmet, but I did not pay attention to sizing information
PA2220✓ Verified Purchase•September 5, 2023
This is a great helmet with a lot of features"¦ Bluetooth works good. However, it's a bit small for me because I did not read the literature thoroughly. It says order a size bigger and I did not. Speaker is adequate although not awesome.
Looks good. Came to me fast

Just got them. Still need to sink
It is made for a round head.

This helmet is nice. Though, it is made for a round head. And the size difference between large and medium are apparent. I picked up another ILM first in Large but it is too loose. So I picked up this one and there are differences. First the size is a thing.. it seems shorter top to bottom. The chin flap catches on my face. And it isn't as deep in the face as the shade lens tickles my nose..
I do have an oval head shape so that makes a difference too.
The big difference or note is the flip up is a different mechanism. It has a firm stop/ hold and makes the up and down at lights a bit finicky. Always adjusting the fit from the shift of latching or lifting. I'll update this as time goes on but thats a ride #1 impression.
Oh the BT works fine. The charge port is a pain if your not paying attention. The set up is simple. And the sound quality is basic. Not like you need much more in a helmet and still hear traffic noises. Made a standing call and the other end of the line said they could hear and knowing its a hemet mic voice quality was expected.. good enough for info but not a casual comfort call to a loved one.
Update. The helmet still works nice and the BT has lasted for every ride I've used it on. With that said the BT interface is overly simple. It does not start and stop media. When you get a call hanging up is didn't happen on my end and the controls would not start up anything. So if your device in a pocket its a pain.

Helmet intercom connection

For those having issues with connecting multiple Ilm helmets. The instructions that came w the helmets are trash, I had to figure it out myself for me and my wife. Here is the checklist that I put together that reliably works. I hope this helps you too, as I see a good amount of complaints on pairing intercom w the provided directions.
Helmet connection checklist
1. Both helmets off
2. helmet 1 (953) hold button to turn on and beep into pairing mode flashing red and blue
3. Turn helmet 2 (953pro) on and hold onto pairing mode
4. Click helmet 1 button hear a beep
5. Hold helmet 2 button for 3 sec count hear connected
6. Hold helmet 2 button 3 sec hear voice dial, then paired
7. Have a great motorcycle ride

Excellent helmet, really really vague instructions

The helmet fit, connectivity, and comfort are all excellent. My main gripes are the vents for the chin are too small and the instructions included are so so bad.
The vent issue keeps the helmet visor fogging up until I crack open the visor. This could be fixed in future versions of the helmet.
The instructions on pairing the helmet for the intercom system are horrible and written in a font so small that mice squint to read them. The instructions do not say that the helmets will lose connection with each other once the helmet is turned off, requiring repairing and clearing the previous intercom pairing.
That said, the FM radio is good. Voice commands from Google assistant and Alexa work when set up. The phone controls for music are also good, however I have to control volume for that function on my phone. The helmet causes the music to skip to the next song or repeat the last song played.
Phone conversations are loud enough to be heard even with earplugs and the quality is acceptable.
Overall, I like this helmet for the price. My Sena helmets are awesome too, but cost twice as much for what I feel is the same featured helmet. Solid buy.
