This small cage is perfect for my Nikon D3300

The Camvate cage is a decent product for the money. I bought this to fit a Fuji X-T20, and it does fit, but you'll need to adjust this cage a bit more than other cameras, do to the X-T20's hotshoe being offset from the bottom 1/4-20 mount. You'll also need to remove the bottom portion of this cage entirely to change the battery on the X-T20. Of course, this isn't Camvate's fault, it's nature of the beast with this Fuji model! The cage attaches to the bottom 1/4-20, and the top hotshoe mount, you need nothing extra to buy, the top hotshoe mount is included! You'll notice the wooden handle is on the left side of the cage, you can reverse this with a few caveats, that being, the wood handle will be bottom side up to allow the finger notches to face outward, and the carved out thumb on the top is now on the bottom, but it works! There is also plenty of 1/4-20 mounting options on the top and bottom cheese plates! All in all, not a bad cage for a universal fit!

Pretty good bracket to hold your camera solidly in place. A little tricky getting the alignment right with hot shoe adapter and the screw mount on the bottom.

It's solid enough for a cheap rig-- but the screw holes dont have much give and its easier than on other cages i've used to accidentally break off a screw, leaving a hole unusable. This is obviously something that can be fixed with being careful, but we all make mistakes.
Also: factor into the cost all the accessories you'll need, starting with a top handle. I'm also not a huge fan of how the included wooden grip handle feels, as aesthetically pleasing as it may be-- it needs a little more depth.
All in all, surprisingly sturdy and the price is right-- worth the extra $20 over those box-cages if you're just getting started.

It works perfectly with the Sony A6300. You're welcome. See the attached photo for what I mean! I added the cold shoe from HDVATE in the image, but seriously, every 6300 owner needs one of these for handheld work. With an IOS lens, one hand on the wood grip, one hand on the camera grip...tons of stability. Cleans the battery door perfectly, but you'll need to remove the rubber eye cup.
