This is actually a 4.5, but there is no option for a half star.
The lost of a star is due to practically no insulation at the cap. I crafted a sort of an upside-down koozie and that helped a lot. With that help, on a summer day my hot tea was still very warm after 24 hours. I also have an original Thermos (the same size) for comparison. Thermos is better, no doubt, but the top insulation isn't perfect either.
Did not try it for cold drinks, but had it full of ice and almost none melted in 24 hours, without the koozie.

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE my 40 oz. bottle. I am in 7th grade and got my bottle about a year ago. I have always trusted it to keep my water cold and my ice frozen throughout the day. I especially love how long it lasts because it is still icy cold during my PE class which is later in the day when it gets hot. I have covered mine in stickers from all over and I constantly get comments about it. The only issue that I've had is that the piece that connects the lid to the bottle has broken off. It has made it a bit hard to hold. Other than that, this bottle is amazing! I would highly recommend this bottle to anyone looking for a good bottle.

LOVE this bottle. Bought the neon green one - the color is true to the picture. Fill it with ice and your drink of choice and it will stay cold for much longer than 24 hours. I filled my bottle with ice and water, just to test it out and it lasted about 34 hours (solid cubes and everything) - Even with me opening it intermittently just to let some warm air in. Yet to test out the hot, but I'm sure it'll be just as described. Thinking about getting the blue one next!

This water bottle is just as good as my previous one (Hydroflask) I love it and use it every day, it keeps the ice for at least 24 hours, sometimes a little longer even. I love that it is cheaper and I was able to get it in my favorite color. The only complaint I have is that I hold the lid back when I take a drink and so many times of doing that, it made the plastic hinge crack and it has almost completely broken. I plan on ordering another lid as a replacement, it's just too bad that it isn't a little better quality to avoid that.

This is a wonderful water bottle. It definitely keeps the cold water cold for 24 hours or more. I have ice well into the next day. I never have to worry about it leaking or being hard to fill with ice or water because the opening is a nice size. This one has a screw on top, which I would have preferred a flip top but the amount of water or liquid that I'm able to get into this thing and keep cold is a beautiful thing! LOL so I won't quibble over that. I purchased this on Amazon daily deals and I just couldn't be happier. Typically I am thirsty overnight because of the CPAP machine that I use. Having cold water at my immediate disposal is a godsend. I hate having to navigate my halls and stairs half sleep at night... Looking for cold water to drink. LOL if I had to have one complaint, it would be the top being a flip-top in lieu of a screw on top. That's my only complaint. That fits very well in my hand and the surface is not slippery at all. I have not had a chance to check out the hot for 12 hours feature. It's just not practical for how I use it right now. However, when I do I will be sure to update this review.
