Put it on a new Harley street glide to cheap
To buy a thousand dollar Harley top box
Not bad overall, good value for the low price.

Minor adjustments to fit my bike (2015 Kawasaki Vaquero). Drilled new holes and notched the braces (seen from inside), cut down one bracket on the underside to fit the rack. Ridges on the inside bottom prevented me from angling the brackets to match the tapered shape of the rack as I originally wanted. It does set far enough back for me to wear a backpack with the driver backrest removed. I used Gorilla(R) Tape to cover the extra holes which has been effective so far in keeping rain out.

I was concerned that there is not weatherstripping around the lid, but after two rides in the rain it appears the box is sheltered enough and the lid overlaps the bottom to keep water out, so pleasantly surprised there.

As others have mentioned, the hinge and lock are on the cheaper side, which is most likely a factor in the low price for the trunk. I made sure to put blue thread-lock/lock-tite on all bolts - the four used to install and the three smaller ones that are part of the latch. 4 Weeks of daily riding and it is all still together at this point. I'm a bit concerned how the plastic will hold in the coming single-digit temps - doesn't appear to be the type to become brittle and crack but I'll update if it does.

The light on the back does not have dim/bright (run/brake) switching. It has either a bright solid as seen in the ad, or bright travelling light from middle out to both sides. If both are energized, the solid overrides the traveling lights. This is unfortunate because I bought this case mostly to increase my visibility beyond the small taillight and was hoping for run/brake option. This only improves my visibility when braking. You can use the traveling light for the 'run' option and the solid for the 'brake', but I would be concerned the change wouldn't register with the cell-phone playing cage-driver behind me that I was braking.

Update - made it through the winter with no issues, plastic remained pliant although it only got into the teens (F) a few times, not into single digits this year. Plastic is much more scratch resistant that I expected and takes a coat of wax fairly well. A few items of note - the screw ends. On both sides (holding cables for lid) and the back (inside of the latch) there are small screws that stick into the compartment. They can easily mar a helmet face shield or tear a hold in a jacket of other clothing if you are not careful. Cover with duct tape or find some rubber nibs to cover them and you'll do fine.

I never attached the rack to the top of my box since I haven't needed the storage, and don't know how much it would hold going down the road anyways. It may help with aesthetics, but I didn't feel like marking and drilling more holes, especially in the top of the lid.

One other thing - there are rubber bumpers on the inside of the lid that keep it snug and prevent rattling when going down the road. Be aware they are only pressed in, and mine all fell out at one time or another. Luckily they fell into the box so I didn't lose them, and ended up securing them with more gorilla tape.

Update December 2018 - still going strong, nothing has come apart, lock still works although I admit I only lock it when absolutely necessary, but still, I haven't had the problems others have written about. Still very happy with this purchase.

The left-most 1/4 of the LEDs are out, something inside the light bar broke, but the rest of the bar still lights up. I think I connected the ground wire to the wrong circuit, every time I brake while the right turn signal is on, the light bar flashes in time with the blinker. Lastly, I posted a new photo, showing the light kits I use when riding at night, so you can see the comparison on the brightness of the light bar on the trunk.

I didn't want to remove the hefty OEM "Sissy Bar" so I spot welded the included "Luggage Rack" upside down to it (with the washers welded to it for fastening). I angled the rack for the passengers comfort angle and then welded a 1 1/4" flat bar bent into a "V" for stability. Finished welding the Luggage Rack to the sissy bar and bolted the trunk to the existing sissy bar mounts and...Bob's your Uncle!
(EDITED Below) So far, I'm enjoying my trunk with light

I was little apprehensive and sat on the fence of ordering this. It took me a full week of reading the reviews and reading between the lines of some possible fake reviews. Knowing I was going to ride 2 up this past weekend I had to pull the trigger or get off the pot. I received it on Thursday which meant that I had 1 day to put it together and on the bike by Saturday. After reading so many review and youtubing ideas. The shipping was wrapped nicely with no dents in the box and no missing pieces. I got off work at midnight and proceeded to put it together. I new the trunk was not going to be an exact fit for my bike but pretty darn close. All I had to do was remove my sissy bar and use the luggage rack on my Kawasaki 900 Classic LT. I did want a little more support in bracing so I got a piece of sheet metal to put in the case. I also use the blue loc tite on the bolts to keep the vibration from loosing the bolts. Drilling is not an option its mandatory since it is a universal trunk. If it wasnt for the sheet metal it took me no real time to install. because I was sure about the electric connection for the brake like. I did that Yesterday in about 2 hours mainly because I had to test which connection was the brake by eyeball since I didn't have a tester. I chose to use flashing rather than solid brake light. All in all, I love my trunk. It has plenty of storage. Theirs only 2 negative but not a deal breaker, is the lock latch rattles so I'm trying to figure out how to resolve that and the back rest has an unusual front lean to it so it flows toward the riders back rather that the contour - hence the 4 stars.

Now how sturdy it is.. Well, it's less than $100 bucks so tamper expectation but so far it's sturdy enough for my needs. I will follow up in a couple months to see how long it last. I add photos later.

Since installation I have had no issues. I usually load it up with Helmet and Gym bag. I have done grocery shopping and some minor things with no issues. The only drawback so far is the trunk lid rattling over bumps which on a motor bike is a lot of rattle. I bought weather strip and lined the inside lid which seems to resolve the issue so far. It seems the brake like does get attention from the approaching car at traffic lights. So the only negative is the paddle seat has an awful angle for the passenger. With that it still gets a 4 star rating to me.

EDITED 9/7/2017

Well, I'm finding out that the lock is not as good. The top portion is coming losing and wiggles it wiggles its way loose every time I ride. I'm going to try to use some pliers and see if I can tighten it up so stays fastened but I will have to say that it's very unnerving and annoying knowing this.
Understand how vibration works.

Seriously! Understand how vibration works... and not just the "good" kind, but the ones that will cause your box to shift this way and that... and also the trunk. Some assembly required like placing the nuts just right so you can drill the hole and slide the shaft in so it doesn't beat the breaks off the beautiful backside. It's ment to be looked at not dropped on the road. And if you happen to be docking with some American be sure to check your tools because this box uses metric to measure... (more numbers means its bigger right?). Once your done playing with your tools then comes the sparky bits... and if you don't know how to read out hot, negative and ground then find that friend you always call that set up your speakers that one time and all of a sudden the kids are calling uncle Charlie because he's always at your house... just not when you are. Yah that guy, he might know where to stick it so you can get that beaming red bar that yells STOP! Anyway, I hope you cheap-o's like me enjoy the review. Until next adventure, keep the shiny side up.
