This machine is fantastic! Works great! Wanted it to tape all my family home video's from VHS to DVD. Working on my 64th hour of taping and working great! I had one DVD that I taped to VHS and back to DVD and each time I copied it IT GOT BETTER!! Highly recommend!
For a refurbished machine it did a decent job

Overall, we have been happy with the machine. It did not record from VHS to DVD like we had hoped but it did play fine for us for almost a year. It only had a 90 day guarantee and we went well beyond that. It has lasted us a year. We are beginning to have problems with it, so don't know how much longer it will last. If we had to do it over again we would get just the DVD / VHS player combo and not pay more for the recording capability. We use this machine a lot, so I guess we got our money's worth.

Works great. Directions are too complicated but if you just put a dvd-r in it and put a vcr tape in it.... hit "D.Dubbing" button and it does the rest for you. Saved tons of money and memories. Now we have all our memories on a digital file we can share, save, duplicate, and archive. Loaned this machine to some friends and seems it has paid for itself in beer they gave me after we converted their camcorder tapes and vcr tapes to dvd-r discs. I recommend the motorized vhs/video cassette (VHS-C) adaptor to record from your camcorder tapes to dvd-r discs. I used the cheaper dvd's and they work great. ENJOY

I'm still playing around with it. I overlooked the fact that it does not have a tuner. I just bought a converter box with a HDMI port. Have not tried that yet, but with the yellow, red, and white cables plus the in antenna, it works fine. I also have a Magnavox DVD/VCR Combo 2-way recording that is turned on and off with the Sanyo remote. My Magnavox's remote can also control my Sanyo machine. I would love to find out how to stop my remotes from turning on /off both machines at the same time. I feel as if the on/off button will not last long with me using it manually, and I do not want to unplug one of my machines. I have tried holding VHS tapes and thick books in front of the on/off button but the signal just goes right through. I would appreciate any suggestions.
