I bought this lapel mic as a last resort. I have spent hundreds of dollars on wireless lapel mics that didn't have the quality of the PowerDeWise lapel mic. I am very impressed with the sound quality.
The adapter is a God send, as I needed it to connect this to my Cannon Rebel T6i. (Other lapel mics don't come with the adapter.) I also really like the extension cord that allows me to step further away from the camera.
The video below has no audio enhancements so you can hear the difference between the Rode boom mic and the PowerDeWise lapel mic.

This microphone is superb! It is even better than I had hoped. So, it was definitely worth the small investment. I am so glad I took the plunge and purchased this item. The microphone that comes integrated into my point and shoot camera is a joke. It always creates a hissing sound in the background and makes me sound like I have a lisp (even though I do not)! As someone who used to work in the broadcast industry, this is a pretty huge con, so I finally decided to rectify it by supplementing my amazing HD video (for posting on YouTube) with this microphone. This is a less expensive fix until I can afford to upgrade my camera set up. I wish there was an easier way to sync my camera audio to my lavalier lapel audio (other than clapping which isn't always accurate) but, for now, this gives me the high-quality audio I need to match the high quality video my camera captures.

I produce alot of videos and I'm always carrying and using lapel mics. Typically an average mic lasts about 6-8 weeks before there's problem with it, like a short in the cord. This is the first lapel mic that has lasted a great deal longer. I got about 7 months of hard use out of it. Then I purchased another because of the great quality. I think someone that's just using it an average amout will have it for years with no problems. Also sounds as good or better then any other mic I've used, including much bigger and more expensive brands.

I have read through the reviews on this little device, both positive and negative. My own personal experience is that it is solid, well-made, nicely packaged with a great little carrying bag, and provides superior sound. I tested it with Audacity on my Mackbook pro using both the 3.5mm plug and later with a usb adaptor and, in both situations, found the sound to be nearly as good as my Blue Yeti. Totally blew me away. I got no sound from the mike rubbing on my shirt and picked up very little background noise. Of course the background can be eliminated easily with software, but the microphone really picked up very little background. The extras were an added bonus with the two filters, extension cord, and additional plug. I have not used it outside with wind but other reviewers have addressed that. For my situation as an online course instructor I found this the perfect solution for situations where my Yeti is not available and where I want mobility.
