This can opener is solid. It cuts smoothly, no jerky motion where the teeth grip the can, and there is no rough edges on the can itself. It has soft handles to grip, very sturdy. This is a very nice manual can opener for camping or for when you are without electricity.

This is an amazing can opener, you would never guess how easy it is to use, and it creates a smooth edge, no sharp edges. Great product.

I am in the beginning stages of arthritis in my hands, and it's more difficult now for me to open cans and jars. My old opener just wasn't working out for me, and I didn't really want to take up counter space with an electric opener. I thought I would take a chance on this one. The first can I opened didn't seem as if it was cutting the lid off, that is until it popped of. The big handle on the rotor makes it easier to grip, and it very easily cuts into the can and TA DA!!! the lid is off. It doesn't just cut the lid off. It actually cuts under the outer lip of the lid, so the entire top of the can comes off. This makes it possible to use the lid to store any unused portions in the fridge. I probably wouldn't store it for a long period of time, but it is perfect to use part of the can and use the other a few days later. Awesome opener

This is a strange kind of can opener. I can understand why some people said they couldn't open a can or figure it out. It took me a while to study it, and try to figure out how the dog gone thing works! That because it doesn't cut the lid off the top. It cuts it off the side. So trying to engage it for starters leaves you scatching your head. But once you figure it out, it does a good job of opening cans my electric opening refused to open. I opened a huge gallon can of pears with it, so once you get it seated and tracking properly, it does a good job. But it's painfully hard to turn, and that is not a good thing. It takes a strong grip with lots of torque to turn the crank handle. I was hoping for better, but it's good backup when all is lost, and you can't get your electric opening to open a can.

I really love these type of can openers that give a smooth edge opening. I have cut myself so many times on other can openers. This one is very easy to use, and opens cans with very little effort. I have tried a couple other smooth edge can openers and they vary in ease of opening. These unique can openers, known as the "smooth-edge" can openers, really approach the mundane task of opening a can in a rather enlightening way. Instead of cutting into the lid, leaving you possibly with shavings in your food, this one has a metal wheel that pries under the lid's outer lip so that the entire top lid of the can lifts off. To me that is a huge deal. No more cutting fingers or metal shavings dropping in my cans.

I read some of the other reviews that it was hard to turn. I don't know why because mine was very easy to turn. Just make sure you turn the whole can around, go just past the starting point, then back out of it, counter clockwise and you have an easy lift.

The sleek design doesn't compromise the strength of this opener. It's one of the easiest to use with it's nice grip handle. Attaching to the can is simple, and it's compact for easy storing. This can opener is a sturdy tool, made from metal and plastic, and it's design looks great in any kitchen.
